Hmm...don't know.  Did you try to upload something and it didn't work?

The size of the actual picture is locked.  But the file size is variable.  Is that what you mean?

Haven't tried anything yet. There's usually a pixel x pixel limit as well as file (byte) size limit.

No biggie. I'll experiment here shortly.

It's going to get scaled (up or down) to 65x65, so you might as well do it yourself and ensure that it's done properly and not with some random browser's algorithm that's optimized for speed and not quality.

Yep that's what happened. Interesting. There are members that have avatars larger than 65x65.  Huh

Sure, almost all the avatars here are some other size, mostly larger (although some are smaller, e.g. Spidey's which is 64x64, IIRC) -- including the "official" ones like the cue ball I'm using.

They are all *displayed* at 65x65, however. At least they should be (defined as such in both HTML and CSS).

Are you seeing avatars being displayed at a larger size?

Sure. Just look through any thread with a decent number of posts.

Hmmm.... Looking at the HTML, the large avatars are coded differently. I suspect the HTML for the avatars is generated at the time of their creation and thus some older avatars are "allowed" to be larger. It's odd, however, that some rather new posters have large avatars (e.g. Pappy13, with a join date of just over a year ago).

So... I don't know...

Is bsmooth's avatar not wider than the others in the thread below:

http://www.thedolphinsmakemecry.com/forums/index.php/topic,19142.15.html

It is for me regardless of browser and system. And anything else would be a surprise considering the html.

I was told along time ago (I think Fau or Dave)....That the ones that supplied by the site are bigger ( and don't appear to be effected by limitations),but pictures that you upload get scaled down...

The reason why I remembered was that I wanted just an extra 10 pixels all the way around would be wonderful!  Embarrassed Cry Cheesy
