I don't think Nelson's gaffe will be remembered more. In all honesty, I haven't even seen any mainstream press on it, just those hardcore baseball fans talking about it.

Unfortunately for them, the Texas Rangers are now the 2nd team of all-time to be within 1 strike of the championship and not win it. The other is obviously the 1986 Red Sox.

I got my "Thank You" card from LaRussa today for picking against St. Louis every round of the playoffs. I have to admit I am a little disappointed that it wasn't accompanied by a case of Budweiser or something. Wink
