'72 - The Perfect Season

If you get pissed off by jtex's yearly 0 - 16 prediction, you might want to skip this thread.  Personally, I find it amusing.

Through 7 games, jtex's overall prediction has been on track.  Just to torture Dolphin fans a little more, I thought I would dredge up the prediction thread and see how accurate his game predictions have been.

Week 1: vs. New England
Tom Brady will throw 5 TDs before halftime like he did in 2007. Big blowout on MNF.

Score 38 - 24.  Miami kept it close in the 1st half and Brady fell short of 5 TDs by 1.....and it took him 4 quarters to get there.  Blowout?  No, but a solid win.

Week 2: vs. Houston
Miami has never beaten the Houston Texans. Ever. Won't change here.

Score 23 - 13.  jtex didn't make any outrageous claims, so he got this one right.

Week 3: at Cleveland
Madden '11's cover boy will stomp the Dolphins. Don't discount a Mike Holmgren team!

Score 17 - 16.  No stomping, just a gut wrenching come from behind win.

Week 4: at San Diego
This is going to be a huge blowout. It's hot in SD, too, and this is a 1PM start on the west coast.

Score 26 - 16.  I don't consider a 10 point loss a huge blowout.  Miami kept it close until the 3rd quarter.

Week 5: BYE
The only week during the NFL season which the Dolphins will not register a loss

jtex is spot on

Week 6: at New York (Jets)
It's going to be the Mark Sanchez show

Score 24 - 6.  Sanchez is average, turns out to be the Revis show who has 2 picks, one for a TD

Week 7: vs. Denver
Never I thought that I would root for Tim Tebow in a million years, yet this will mark the second time in a year where this is the case. WTF?

Score 18 - 15.  Again, no bold prediction, but jtex does mention Tim Tebow, so I'll give him this one.

Week 8: at New York (Giants)
Same stadium as week 6, different team, same result. A big fat loss. (Oh yeah, Let's Go Giants!!!!)

Score 23 - 20.  I wish jtex would give us more specifics in his predictions, since it's hard to argue with "big fat loss".

For the remaining games, Joe provides a little more detail, so I'll be watching those carefully.

^ I really wanted to go deep in details, but I didn't have time to insert them. I don't feel like I should edit the thread now, as that would "jinx" the streak that I have going on.

I promise more detail for future 0-16 threads Smiley

Not to mention that editing a "season prediction" thread halfway through the season would be more than a wee bit shady...

Is it really great prognosticating though, when he makes an 0-16 prediction every year and his "details" are pretty far off? The Cleveland game? Madden cover boy didn't even play. The Mark Sanchez show was pretty ho-hum. And, as was pointed out, ten points does not equate a huge blowout. If all he's going to do it just say, "Yes, they will lose again this week," I'd be more impressed if he would have called the Chiefs' or Eagles' wins this weekend. -EK

He should be laughing at us.  We are pathetic and we're squandering an opportunity for a franchise QB.

I was just thinking at how hard they are blowing it, winning a meaningless game to give the Colts a seemingly insurmountable lead at 0-9.

31-3 with 5 minutes left, no way they blow it and Jtek 0-16 prediction is gone.

I doubt the Colts will pick Andrew Luck first, given that they have Peyton Manning, so we can still get him.

There are still 2 other very good QBs that Miami could get.

at least there is a bright side.

It does seem like the colts could better use that pick on defense.

Yes, Tommy. I'm "eating crow" because I picked 0-16 and after losing 10 straight going back to last season, they actually got one.

Moron.

I'm sure it's just a case of mistaken identity, no worries. Everyone knows you're the professor on the boat, and not the beached whale...

And to get things back on thread: In tonight's news, Joe Tex's annual pile of shit thrown at the wall doesn't stick. Film of a brown smear at eleven...
