I wouldn't start giving Jeff Ireland the good housekeeping seal of approval just yet. Take a look at the free agent signings:
Artis Hicks will probably start all year but he's really only a serviceable player.
Richard Marshall will start all year and while he is solid, I don't imagine getting the bang for our buck on him. Legedu Naanee might be having a good camp, but let's find out when he actually does something in a game.
Now for the draft choices. I'd hate to say this but the early returns on the aren't looking so hot with the exception of Tannehill.
-Jonathan Martin has made me wish we brought back Marc Colombo. I get headaches when I think that.
-Olivier Vernon has not shown me a competent pass rush yet
-Michael Egnew clearly doesn't belong in the NFL.
-Lamar Miller is behind Steve Slaton on the depth chart and not exactly turning heads on kick returns
-Josh Kaddu will be lucky to make the roster
-B.J. Cunningham will not be that lucky
-Kheeston Randall might get in 100 snaps or so but not be of any impact
-Rishard Matthews MIGHT make the roster
Combine this with the overall performance of last year's draft class and Jeff Ireland could be on thin ice after this season. For the long term health of this team, let's hope so.

Well Ireland probably did low ball him some, but that's how the game is played in free agency. I am just glad Miami didn't beg or overpay for him.
Bottom line is Flynn should fire his agent. To go to Seattle where they had Jackson already in place was silly. If he gets beat out by a short rookie QB who wasn't even picked in the first 2 rounds that says alot. Where if he came to Miami, yeah a little less money but he is probably handed the starters job (hell we can see it was anyone but Moore this year) and Tannehill most likely isn't even drafted by Miami. I mean you can't say for sure if Miami would have still taken Tanney but I would venture a guess no.
He would get handed the starters job for the same reason Tannehill has it now..... He knows Philbin's system.

^^there is talk of Kaddu possibly starting over Misi! lol, he is going to make the team unless he becomes shockingly bad overnight.
The Herlad is listing Kaddu as one of the players on the bubble of not making the team at all. Landshark may have nailed this one. http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/08/24/v-fullstory/2965838/several-miami-dolphins-players.html-EK

Being on the "BUBBLE" according to a 2nd rate reporter for THAT newspaper doesn't put you in danger of not making the team. It's one man's opinion at a 2nd rate newspaper. The Dolphins have no depth at LB and the kid is the best backup OLB they currently have and best chance to get Misi (who is struggling in the switch to a 4-3) out of the lineup. Plus he plays special teams.
The same Miami Herald ran a headline saying Mike McCoy was going to be the next Miami Dolphins head coach back in January, 24 hours later Philbin was announced. Take their work with a grain of salt. Unless its coming from Ben Volin at the PBP and even (can't believe I am saying this) Omar Kelly SunSent...take it with a grain of salt.
Interesting, insofar as the SunSent agrees with the link I already posted: "Karlos Dansby (injured), Kevin Burnett (injured) and Koa Misi are the starters. Jamaal Westerman, who can also play defensive end, makes it because of his versatility. And Trusnik is on because of his special teams contributions. The final decision comes down to Gary Guyton, Josh Kaddu or Austin Spitler, and at the moment none of them have earned the final spot for a linebacker. That unit is weak. But for the sake of experience, and factoring in Dansby and Burnett's injuries, my vote goes to Guyton. But it could easily be Kaddu because of his upside. He's been horrible in camp, but is coming on lately. Maybe showing up late because he was attending classes set Kaddu back?" http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2012-08-23/sports/sfl-projecting-the-miami-dolphins-53man-roster-20120823_1_53-man-roster-offensive-linemen-darren-rizzi/2-EK
