and before someone chimes in on how Marino should buy the Dolphins..his estimated net value, as of 2011, is only $35 million.  I say only because you need need to be a billionaire to own a team

He has enough to lead a group if he lined up the right investors. But that is very time consuming and takes months if not a couple years to do.

Jim Kelly has been trying to buy the Bills from old man Ralph Wilson for years and he put together a group. Wilson just won't sell. That is Jim Kelly, I am sure Marino could find enough big money investors and throw something together.  But its unlikely.

Someone also posted it on Phinheaven
phinheaven isn't a real site.  If you mean Finheaven, I don't see it on there either.  Got a link?

From talking to a couple people today i guess it did go across the bottom of the NFL Network this morning on their scroll two times. Then never again. Either they took it down ASAP once they figured out they got bad information. Or somehow someone was just messing around with their scroll having fun and put it up there.

Either way as of now it seems to be a BS story

Yeah.  I don't see anything else backing it up either.  Can we get rid of this thread?

Interesting.

I want to leave this thread up.  It does have a question in the title, plus everyone in the thread was honest and we got to the bottom of it.  It's not like anyone came in here making false claims.

I think it's still a story, however, being that it did make it across the NFL network scroll.  I wonder if there's anything to this -- just a rumor?  Nothing more???

Fair enough.  I put the question mark because I didn't know if the story had teeth or not.  I know what I saw, but not everything that scrolls across NFL Network's ticker actually takes place.  I know threads with news stories that aren't true are usually locked or deleted, so I was just trying to go by the rules.

There was another time last year where a story (I think a Jets story) scrolled at the bottom for like an hour or two before it got removed for being false. I vaguly remember that.
