and in a related story the Texans are stripped of their first round pick and Watt is fined $100,000.

I said it was a bad idea from the start.

And another +1. The off the field idiocy for the past three years has already been more than enough. Keep this team out of public view, besides the actual games, until it can have at least a .500 season. -EK

And because JJ Watts says it that makes it true  Roll Eyes

As another national reporter said today, you can get snap counts from any preseason telecast because of the way they do audio as most are local telecasts and not all games are done by the pros at ESPN, NBC...etc

Hence changing the snap count for each game.....assuming a rookie coach was smart enough to do that....

You don't think they did? Why because JJ Watts said so? Give me a break. Houston led the league in batting down balls at the line of scrimmage  in the entire league all last year. Did they have every teams snap count last season?

This is just a player talking junk. Probably pissed that Incognito was trying to hurt people on his d-line so he is now trying to embarrass the Fins or something like that. This story screams of a guy trying to make a headline.

No, I agree with you 100% but I just wouldn't put "failure to do something" past this franchise.  I was being a wise-ass.  Lost in translation I guess.  Thanks to Hard Knocks, we know how anal Philbin is so this was probably just Watt getting his name out there as you say.  OR, he himself was being a smartass and the media :: cough, mike florio, cough :: blew it out of proportion

I still think it was a good idea. Houston was just a better team.

Richie's a baaaaddddddd man.  Seems as though Kubiak watched the game film from Sunday's game and didn't see anything illegal or wrongdoing.

He seems he's cleaned up his act and just plays hard nosed football. Good for him.  Need more physical players on the line like him.

For the record, mike florio and pft aren't exactly the most reputable news source. They publish lies and make up stories regularly. I hate them.

To me worst part of Hard Knocks was watching Philbin picking on players for not tying their shoes and having to urinate. The guy's supposed to be a leader of MEN. He's picking gum wrappers up off the field. Meanwhile, in the background, he's got Julius Pruitt, Legedu Naanae and Roberto Wallace running routes.

This story came out before the game and I thought it was BS then and now. Like it was previously mentioned, a player can learn more from watching the four preseason tapes than they can from Hard Knocks.

I told you all repeatedly it was a bad idea to be on Hard Knocks.  The response was overwhelmingly that I was overreacting.

JJ Watts will never have another game like that as long as he's a pro.

The point of showing him doing such menial things was to point out his eye for detail. It's supposed to prop him up as someone who studies everything and to tell people that you can't do the big things right if you don't look at the small things. It's not that difficult to see.

I think it's a good idea, still.  I wish we'd do it every year.

Even if he picked it up from Hard Knocks (which is probably bullshit), there is still plenty of tape of preseason games.  If your snap count is predictable, that's your problem....not a reality show.

I am of the belief that sunlight on an issue is a good thing.  Put it all out there and people either play better or they don't.  Trying to cover up your ineffectiveness is no help.
