Just to set the record straight, I believe Vontae was raised primarily by his Grandmother. That doesn't completely explain him wanting to call someone in the middle of being told he had been traded, but it does explain why the someone was her.

I still wouldn't categorize someone who was raised by their grandmother as "having no family support growing up."  And absent any other information, there's no reason to jump to that conclusion.

It just seemed like a strange criticism to make of someone; not the fact that he wanted to call someone else in the middle of the meeting (which was dumb on his part), but the choice on whom he wanted to call.  It's not like he was calling his homeboy.

Not a criticism, just an observation that "could" help explain some of the issues VD apparently has.

Personally, I was shocked VD has a problem. I would have bet AND LOST money he would have emerged as the leader of the secondary.
