I predicted Tebow in by week 6 vs. the Colts. Based on Sanchez's performance this week and the boos he received (coupled with fans chanting Tebow's name), I'm feeling good about that. Unless Rex is just too stubborn to admit his current QB sucks and there'd be nothing to lose by changing (which is a possibility). At this point, is there any real harm in starting one QB who's completing less than half his passes over another? If the Jets finish below .500 and DON'T play Tebow, I think Rex is out.

How bad is Sanchez?

A quarterback's Points Above Average measures the number of points contributed by a quarterback over the season, accounting for QBR and how much he plays, above the level of an average quarterback. A 50.0 Total QBR is the league average. Since the start of the 2008 season, only JaMarcus Russell has cost his team more net points than Mark Sanchez if replaced by a league-average quarterback. Tim Tebow has a career 27.7 Points Above Average.

Currently, 61% of the 65,000+ people who voted on the poll between the two feel like it's Tebow time. -EK

I hope Tebow plays.  He will only make the team worse.  I laugh that the Jets are regressing at QB, and the Dolphins appear to be moving forward.

The Jets would likely give the Dolphins Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, several draft picks and an autographed copy of  Ryan's wife's first interracial foot fetish video, "Bo Knows Toes" in exchange for Tannehill.

Don't give Ireland ideas. That just screams, "football reasons" trade.

If there is a god in heaven Tebow plays soon! It just makes this message board so much more fun!  Grin

I have to believe that Rex knows what he has, and he isn't going to start Tebow as long as Sanchez is healthy.  Maybe I underestimate the pressure that fans can put on owners and coaches.  Given the O line and WR of the Jet, I think it's possible that Tebow might give the Jets a better chance of winning a few games, but what's the long term plan?  Tebow isn't the future of the Jets.  Maybe Sanchez is, but we won't know if he is sitting on the bench.  If I'm Ryan, I let Sanchez try and play his way through this slump.  If he can't, move in a new direction at the end of the year.

I realize this is a win now league, but I think Ryan has a couple of more years before he is really on the hot seat.  Use this year to see what you have.

The future of the Jets is to make money.
Tebow generates income for the Jets.

BINGO! And Woody Johnson today said he would rather watch Romney win the election than his Jets team having a winning season. Tells you where the owners priorities are at. I won't and am not turning this into a political debate, that's not the point of bringing this up. I bring it up because Woody is more concerned with his money and things other than the Jets right now and he admitted it today.

If Ross had made that comment, holy hell would be breaking out in Miami right now and Ross would be getting destroyed from every angle from the Dolphins fans and press.

Sanchez is as good (bad) as he is going to get and Rex seems adamant on going down with that ship....at least for this year. Would not surprise me to see the jets sign a vet QB or even draft a guy. Tebow will be gone after this year.

As a Jet hater, I think it is so awesome that they currently have what may be the two worst QBs in the NFL on their roster.

The jets are in a real dilemma. They have a lot of time and money invested in Sanchez. When do you cut your losses?

After last night, it looks like Dallas may be in the same situation.

^^^ I could never understand why the Cowboys stick with Romo.  He blew a couple games last year also.  He's just good enough, and plays for a good team, not to realy stink.

He had ONE bad game. For his career, he's right at a 96 rating and about twice as many TDs as INTs, and completes about 65% of his passes. Those numbers are comparable to Rivers, Manning, and Roesthlisberger, and better than Matt Stafford. There's no reason NOT to stick with him. -EK

I think it's Tebow time, as well.

The Jets are garbage, and I think that Tebow sucks.  However, I think Sanchez sucks, too.  Money, interest, tickets.

The Jets have to get rid of Tebow for the long term at the QB position.  I, personally, love to watch Tebow play and find the whole circus immensely entertaining.

He had ONE bad game. For his career, he's right at a 96 rating

Actual number 72.9.

Quote
and about twice as many TDs as INTs,

60 TDs/ 55 Int.  Closer to about the same than about double.

Quote
and completes about 65% of his passes.

More like 54.8%.
