Congrats to Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez for being the top two over rated players in the NFL.

Tebow is who he is.  A running back playing quarterback.  The trouble is, if you move him to fullback or tight end, his leadership capacity diminishes, as does his time in the spotlight.

Sanchez isn't even worthy of being labelled overrated.  More like the third biggest quarterback draft bust behind Jamarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf.  Compounding problems is the price the Jets paid to move up to get him.

They were discussing this on the NFL network today. They said Tebow can't be overrated because he isn't even playing. This means the coaches aren't rating him very high.

In the end they agreed that Tebow is over-hyped but not necessarily overrated. I can't say that I disagree with that.

A player can be overrated whether he is playing or not.  You say "this guy is the best!" and he's really not - he's overrated.  Nowhere in that statement does it say whether or not he is playing.

Besides, Tebow plays every game.  He may not be STARTING, but he plays at least 3-5 plays every game.

But you do have to be "rated" to be "overrated".

Nobody thinks Sanchez is very good. How can he be overrated?

Perceived value - actual value = "rating delta"

When rating delta is high, you are overrated.

If perceived value is low and rating delta is high, that means actual value must be VERY low.

That's Mark Sanchez.

Exactly!  Tebow is over-hyped, not sure anyone really rates him high.

I know a Gator fan that swears Denver got rid of Tebow because Elway was scared Tebow would break his records.

Yeah, Elway is way more scared of being overshowed by Tebow, than Peyton Manning.

That is what I said. Same goes for Tebow. He isn't even a starting QB. Over-rated? Makes no sense. My vote would go to Tony Romo, and I like Romo personally. Has a heck of a hat collection. lol

Well, this was a poll of the Players.  Gotta wonder which players actually took part in the poll, probably jealous 2nd stringers.  Not sure how people can think Bush is overrated, when he was knocked on for not being an everydown back.  Then Brady and Eli Manning are on the list also, c'mon Brady is a HOFer and Eli is consistantly not talked about in the same manner as his brother, Brady, Rodgers, Brees, etc.

Brady is not overrated, but he isn't underrated either.

Eli Manning is probably the most underrated QB in the NFL.  He doesn't get half the press of either of either Sanchez or Tebow and the guy has two superbowl MVPs. (Although I don't think he should have gotten either of them, the first one should have gone to someone in the front 4 and in the second it should have gone to the punter)  Right now, I would rather have Eli than Peyton as my QB.
