'72 - The Perfect Season

I'm surprised this thread hasn't been kicked off already.

Terrible, terrible, terrible showing from the whole team.  Miami wasn't in the game from the beginning and no single player caused us to lose.  It was a true team failure for the offense, defense and special teams.

Loses like this fall on the head coach.  Joe Philbin get's my vote.

I agree with Jim Gray.  There is not ONE SINGLE PLAYER on this team who earned his paycheck this week.  Since this team clearly wasn't ready today, coach Philbin gets my vote as well.

Tannehill.  He isn't anywhere close to as good as people think he is.

Both of you don't know a thing about football, but it has to go to Tanny this week.

For the people who picked Tannehill I have to ask ... how many played better than him this week ... three maybe four people? It's been a long time since we've seen a total team melt down but this is exactly what it was. If I was the coach of the team I wouldn't even watch the tape and move on.

As much as I like him this was a complete mental break down and I think it has to fall on the coach. Coach Joe gets my vote. This should certainly be motivation for Thursday night!!

Gotta be Philbin.  Although, Tannehill did play his worst game as a professional, it's not like anybody else did anything whatsoever.  We were damn lucky to not be shut out.

This game was over before the opening kick off.  I'd be hard pressed to find a less motivated and focused Dolphin squad in recent history.  There's no excuse for that, and the sole responsibility falls on the Head Coach.

Tannehill. This was his chance to put the team on his back and he failed horribly. Yes it's allot to ask of him but I still expected more from him. It doesn't mean he's not as good as. I think he is I'm just dissapointed he didn't do better.

The team was underprepared and clearly felt the pressure of knowing that 2 games in 5 days would decide their season.

A leader needed to show up yesterday and didn't, rookie QB, rookie HC...I can't blame Tannehill for this one, he'll learn and move on, for me it's all about the preparation so this one goes to Joe Philbin.

If we are surprised by the form the team has shown this season, we cannot be surprised when they have a drop in form even if it is against a pretty weak team. Upsets happen. That's what makes sport great.

I give it to Philbin as well but I'm annoyed by his benching of Reggie Bush.  He fumbled, big deal - it happens.  You gotta let him bounce back.  And in a game where your offense can't get anything going, you remove your best offensive player from the game for what?  Bad move.

He benched Richie Incognito as well for committing that unnecessary roughness penalty.  The Dolphins were mounting a drive and had a first and ten on the Titans 14 in the second quarter.  The penalty made it first and 25 on the Titans 43.  The drive ended in a field goal.

Philbin is a rookie head coach.  I can see why he yanked both those guys, but you gotta put them back in at some point as they are key players in your offense.

Joe Philbin gets it this week because the whole team sucked.  Yeah Tanny made a couple bad throws, one of the picks was a tipped ball where the guy just sat in the passing lane (look at the tape.  he literally just stands there and looks at the TE) and another was a pass he had to force in late when we were already losing big.  That entire team was not ready to play, they looked like dog shit against a team built around one player.

Our Secondary couldn't cover a High School team (again).  So they get DHM.

Tanne had at least two other INTs dropped by the Titans. He's lucky he didn't have 4 or 5 picks. You can't make excuses for all of them. -EK

I get benching Incognito.  He did something dumb because he was getting mad and needed to cool off.  The step down from Bush to Thomas/Miller, though, is too big to focus on one bad play where the guy was trying to get a big first down on 3rd and long.  Incognito missed less plays than Bush did, and his issue was a bigger problem, and a conscious decision on his part.
