I can't think of a better FA day in our history. We aren't talking about short term fixes. It's good to be a Dolphin fan for a day!!

We are actually signing YOUNG players who haven't peaked yet and have many years in front of them. Not doing what Daniel Synder did, or Al Davis and Jerry Jones have done and overpay for OLD players!

Indeed.  My thoughts, exactly.

Lots of great unexpected moves today.  I could see Miami moving up in the draft to get a top notch CB, and/or perhaps trading into the future for some better picks.

Really impressed with the aggressiveness Miami is showing to address specific team needs in free agency. Wallace, Ellerbe, Wheeler...these are all quality players.  Gotta love building the overall roster talent with relatively young players. Now, Miami just needs to really nail the draft next month...

And according to Jeff Darlington the Fins have BIG PLANS for the draft.

It's been a long time since this team was in "Win now" mode. They didn't mortgage their future like the Jets did either, which is great. A week ago, I figured we would draft a DE and Corner with the first two picks. Now, I see Miami packaging picks to take the best DE or CB in the draft.

I hope this leads to the day when we see the schedule come out and say "Bills and Jets, that's 4-0 guaranteed right there".

Ellerbe/Dansby is a wash cap wise. Wallace is about $6 mill on our cap. Wheeler is about $3 mill.

DON'T BE SHOCKED IF MIAMI MAKES A RUN AT WELKER OR JENNINGS tonight or tomorrow! Fins still with $20 mill or so in cap space (subtract about $5 mill for rookies) so they got $15 mill to play with give or take!!

They can also open up MORE cap space with 3 simple moves...Dimitri Patterson-$4.6m cap savings, Richard Marshall-$3.7m, Dan Carpenter-$2.5

And look no further than a few hours north for Carpenter's replacement.  Either Caleb Sturgis of UF or Dustin Hopkins of FSU would fit the bill nicely and should be easily obtainable in the sixth or seventh round.

As opposed to the 12 teams with small plans, and the 7 teams with no plans at all?  Wink

(Smart-ass Translation: Everyone says their team has big plans for the draft, unless they traded away all their picks prior to the draft)

I just want to see Miami pick talented players and build this roster as strongly as possible. Every team plans to do that, so what I'm saying is that I want to see it executed properly. No bustalicious early picks, just playmakers on both sides of the ball.
