Scratching my head over the Padres' winning run lately. They've won 10 of their last 13 games, using decent pitching, timely hitting and amazing base running (successful on 19 of 20 stolen base attempts during this stretch). We're almost up to the .500 mark now, but I'm still pretty sure that the Padres aren't really as good as they've been playing. I definitely will enjoy it while it lasts though...

I'm wondering if the Dodgers end up in the cellar which is the direction this ridiculous payroll is headed, do they hold a firesale like the Marlins?

Since I know we have our fair share of Braves fans up here, I have to ask...how in the world did Atlanta let the Padres sweep them?

Boggles my mind. It's a happy boggle, but a boggle nonetheless...

I'll bet you feel like the 2004 Dolphins after beat the Pats on that Monday night game.  This was your boys' World Series

Like I had mentioned to you previously ... strikeouts. Live by the sword and you die by the sword. I can't think of a streakier team than Atlanta. We really aren't much in the way of the Bobby Cox Braves of playing fundamental baseball and that makes us our own worst enemy. Congrats to the Padres on a great series for them!

It was fluky, especially with one of our steadier hitters (Gyorko) out of the lineup. Just another series though...one of the few that the Padres are likely to sweep this season. On a personal fantasy note...it is nice to see Jason Heyward finally start hitting again.

Strikeouts. Way too many. Still in 1st, although logic defies it.

And to think, you were worried about your Padres finishing last...
