So epic!

I was already tired of having to see the "crazy" Alex Jones and his sheep-like followers have wrought upon us all before this horrible tragedy occurred.  Their attempt to now try to turn this insanity divided by zero to further their own delusions is sickening.

Alex Jones should be ashamed of himself.
ETA: I just looked it up because I was curious. Alex Jones is only 39. Dude looks 50+. I guess the crazy ages you.

To Hoodie:  That is awesome and it shows how awesome MA is and makes me proud to live there.

I just heard that some of those blood doners were people who after running 26 mile in a race ran 2 more miles to the hospital to donate blood.

Wow, just wow.

It's true.

I don't know if it's immediate, like the press makes it want to sound, but I have two friends who did this.  They finished around the 3:20 mark and were well ahead of the blast.  They were staying over, supposed to go to a celebration dinner that night and other events.  As soon as they heard, they found the nearest donation center, which was about 2.5 miles from their hotel room.  So they hoofed it, still in their running gear.

I am confused about how this is a federal crime.

Crime -- absolutely.  Three counts of first degree murder under the laws of Mass, plus various other counts.  But unless the bomb crossed state lines, one of the victims was a federal agent (no evidence of this) this isn't a federal crime.

I'm sure they are calling it an act of terrorism.

If it's an act of terrorism, wouldn't it be a federal case?

P.S. I am no lawyer.

Act of terrorism.  Possession and use of weapons of mass destruction.  The Feds will find a way to obtain jurisdiction in this case.

I don't believe those are considered WMDs.  Not to diminish the death and injury suffered, but this wasn't a mass scale.

190 injured and 3 dead is significant, it's only good luck it wasn't worse.

Intent and potential has to come in to play.  Both bombs had more potential.  Additionally, I am not considering the damage anything to sneeze at.

If your personal classification of a WMD is a bunker buster, sure.  These weren't WMD's in comparison.  I'm not sure I've actually had an actual classification, other than opinion, on WMD.

Four.

Not insignificant, but less dead then the DC sniper.  In my heart I am for repealing the 8th amendment if the last one is captured alive so he not only be sentenced to death, but sentenced to death by cutting off his balls and having him die by bleeding to death.

But I still say that this is a state crime of Mass, not a federal crime.

Four including the officer today, yes.

I am talking about the directs from the explosions, including the wounded (which can't be discounted).

WMDs are generally used in reference to foreign leaders, like Saddam in the Iraq war.  Again, not to diminish the loss and injury in Boston, but nobody is coming after Saddam for a pressure cooker full of nails.

^^Agreed.

Everyone has a different view of "mass", however.  The intention of those pressure cookers versus reality was gravely different.  I'm not trying to compare a pressure cooker to a chemical weapon, but...some of the items we were looking for were also smaller weapons to be deployed in a larger mass distribution level.
