Robert Heron on Tekzilla (a Video Podcast on Revision3) A couple of episodes ago mentioned in passing,he switched back to Windows 7 from Windows 8. So I just got around to watching last Thursdays' episode, and he explained why...It wasn't the live tiles, new interface,it was too Microsoft eccentric.(wanted all it's Microsoft accounts managed to 1 account linked to Windows 8.)He also had hardware driver support problems, not as good of media center,etc,etc...

It kind of goes to one of my biggest gripes right now...

- I hate everything wants to connect to everything else...Sites wanting me to log in with my Yahoo account,Google account,Twitter, facebook, account. For me it's privacy (like Tom's hardware wants all my Yahoo contacts to sign in with that...No Sorry) *Security is the other issue,I don't want one account compromised and people to be able to access everything...

- (sidebar to above,as I'm checking Gmail) - Somehow All of the sudden my Gmail account, enrolled me in google+ bullshit, that I don't anything to do with!I don't want Circles,an Emails telling me " Do I know these people? Do I want to add them to my Circles?"

- I bitched on Twitter about Gordman's rude employees, and bad customer service. They tweeted me back to PM them on Facebook to discuss how we can make it right... Huh Yeah I get the character count issue, but I hate facebook. I don't want to have to go to another social media service, facebook, to tell you "you suck",Just so you can reply with "we're sorry"

-Our local news used to be horrible with this..."like" us on Facebook to hear more about this story.

*I know it's hypocritical,I use a password manager, that if compromised would allow them access to everything.I feel somewhat more secure with that, and I do use 2 step verification with Grid code pass-code verification thing.

I'm with you on these points.  All of them.  I don't like to have to "Like" things on Facebook to get content.  That's bullcrap.  I'll Like you if I, well, LIKE you.  Not because I have to do it to see if I like you or not.

Whenever possible, I try my best not to link things with Facebook.  As it is, I'm sick of Facebook automatically posing crap on my page, I don't want other things posting for me too.

I specifically avoid linking apps to my Facebook account.

If you have an Android phone, I'd strongly recommend signing up for Google+.  One killer feature for me is that if you take a picture or video, it automatically syncs that media to your online Google storage.  So if The Man tries to snatch your phone when you capture him doing something questionable, the pics/video are saved to the cloud.

I don't have a FB account, so the constant usage of FB to get more content and be able to comment on sites is really annoying. I feel like I'm being forced into a FB account. (I will NOT be going back any time soon.)

I'm not that tech savy anymore, just don't have the time for it.  I got a FB account a couple years ago because an ex-girlfriend wanted me to; so I still go on there once in a while.  Somehow the pic I have on FB was transferred to my hotmail email acct so now my pic goes out with my emails, which I don't want to happen.  Very annoying, as I don't want a casual pic going out with business emails I send.

I don't use Facebook or don't believe I have ever had a site ask me to use it to gather more content (at least for anything I wanted content on). I think we all need to get off the computers a bit more and experience life.

^^ applause for this guy.  I agree completely.  I would just recommend to make it "...get off the computers and smartphones..."

It bugs me to no end to see a group of people out to dinner and all of them are looking at their phones, texting, tweeting, etc, and not talking to each other.  Its ruining human interactions.

I am also annoying with everything connecting to everything.

I would like to add:
I hate mobile versions of sites that you can't easily get away from.  It's fine that ESPN or Facebook has a mobile site, but when I want to browse the regular site easily, just let me do it.

I hate sites that don't actually have the content they claim to.  So, you search for something and Google returns the search results for some squatter's landing page within some makeshift search engine.

I am not yet set-up/comfortable with "the cloud".  Perhaps this one is on me.  But I'm annoyed that I have email on my phone, tablet, and PC and I have to erase from all three places.

I'm annoyed that I'm mailing lists for everything.  I am constantly unsubscribing, and it seems that all I get is spam.   ...and it's not illegitimate stuff.  Like kickball, for example.  I'm in a league, so I don't mind getting important emails, but they send me stuff like every other day about leagues I'm not in.  I like to use email for important information, but not for nagging.

^^ your stuff doesn't sync upstream?  I delete a message on my BlackBerry, and it deletes everywhere.  That's never been a problem.  I think Android behaves the same way...  Must be an Apple problem Tongue

I use POP email through comcast.  I'm guessing that this can be done.  But I don't even have the problem specifically on my phone.  It's on my Windows-based PC, as well.

Is that for work Dave? Why don't you get an Exchange account? Also, my Gmail account synchs across all of my devices.

I'm not real comfortable using "the cloud" myself;Even though I use it differently than Dave is talking about. I have (5gb) Google drive,(5gb) Amazon cloud storage,2gb of drop box,and 50gb of Mega,my internet connection itself is a hindrance to really being able to take advantage of these services...(I have an ungodly slow up speed, and fairly low bandwidth cap).I only use them to save really important family pictures,in case of a natural disaster wipes out the physical copies, computer, and external hard drives.I find external hard drives (or having more drives in general) Faster, better solution at this time...

- (Sort of a subtopic, and annoyance,(**Adobe hater warning**)) Adobe getting rid of creative suites in favor of subscription based cloud services,I've not found a useful feature worth upgrading for since CS4. It's about piracy, not trying to serve people better bull, faster updates,etc...

- Yahoo- everything about it is becoming an annoyance, the homepage, and even the Email is getting a little wonky for me...

I signed up for facebook, in late 06 or 07 logged in twice, thought this sucks, and never went back...(thought I deleted the account, but I seem to get spammed by them a lot in that email I signed up with)

The Adobe thing sucks balls. I have CS5, but I got it with my student discount. Now I'm going to have to pay monthly? That's not cool and cuts into my profit margin. Bleh.

Ok, I'm curious, why do you have all this space in the cloud but slow/low bandwidth to use it? Why don't you either upgrade your service to take advantage of it or just get rid of it?

^ Because it's all free, and the cost of changing/upgrading service doesn't make sense to use something that I got free...I use some of the space, but mostly as redundancy back up as I explained.Mega is the only thing I don't have anything uploaded too at the moment.

Buddha,It wont cost you to keep CS5,but if you wanted to the latest version of Photohop (yet to be released) $20 month.(Different articles said it would be discounted for people that have the latest version)
