Big match up between your two most hated rivals.  (IIRC: other than Dave who hates the Bills the most)

Both barely beat teams that are expected to be weak this year.  Winner will be in first place in the Division.

You know who I am rooting for.

Pats should destroy the Jets.  How Tampa let them hang around in that game is beyond me.  Jets D is O.K, but the offence sucks.

Pats  37  Jets 13

Its one of the two games each season where I root for the sinkhole under the stadium to finally collapse and swallow both teams.

Otherwise, I hate the Jets far more than the Patriots.

I'm going for the Jets just because I can count on them to suck the rest of the way, but, having said that, I won't be sad to see them lose.  Grin

No...not me.  Not even close.  I hate the Jets more than all other teams put together.

I guess I hate the Bills more than the Pats, though.  They've sucked for so long that it's starting to wear off...but the 90s...ugh.

Anyway, in a matchup like this, I always enjoy seeing Jets fans cry.  But I won't be too upset if the Pats fall, either.

Opps, sorry.  I remember when I asked here about who was the most hated division rival there was exactly one person who said Bills, (with Pats and Jets splitting the rest) I thought it was you, must have been someone else.

Generally I find older Dolphin fans hate the Jets more, newer Dolphin fans - the Pats.

You know....it's funny, but I just can't bring myself to hate the Pats.  Of course, they're good, but it's almost an admiration.  This is also because the Pats never really beat the Dolphins....and the Dolphins never really beat the Pats.

Back when the Pats sucked, we were good.  It was that way for a long time.   But now, the Pats are good pretty much every year, but we suck.  So, it's like no rivalry can form because there isn't any crossover.

The Bills, however, were really good when we were ALSO really good.  They kept us from getting places year after year and it was maddening.

I hate the Pats for 2 reasons:

1) Jealousy.  I wish our team was good and was in the playoffs every year

2) apparent bias/bandwagon.  I find that the fans (for the most part) are spoiled and expect excellence.  Going 10-6 is viewed as failure.  Similarly, I feel that they get favorable/preferential treatment from the league and officials, especially a certain QB that wears #12.  We've seen the league make up rules (sometimes, right there on the sidelines) to protect him.

With the exception of 1/12/86.  (As example of a much weaker team beating a better team on any given Sunday, that tops the list)

But yeah, the Bills and Dolphins periods of being good often overlapped.  The Pats-Jet hatred is not just division rivalry, but the drama of Parcells, Belichick & Mangini each leaving to become the head coach of the other.  Cause there really hasn't been that many times were the Jets or Pats got into each others way.

That would be me.

As I've stated twice before (and keep getting confused with others...) This is why:

The Bills, however, were really good when we were ALSO really good.  They kept us from getting places year after year and it was maddening.

Put me in this category:

To answer the OP, Patriots over Jets

Other than the previously mentioned sinkhole, I'm hoping for a 0-0 tie game, with missed FG's and TD's called back because of penalties.

No Gronk. Now Vereen is on IR and Amedola looks like he won't play either. After the way the Pats played last week against Buffalo, I'd take the Jets +12 right now. How is the spread still that high? -EK

Because no one believes the Jets can field a remotely competent team, while everyone is willing to give the Pats the benefit of the doubt (which, you've gotta admit, they've earned). The spread reflects where people put their money, that's all, so if the injuries don't make bettors change their behavior, the spread won't budge either.

As for the game, I'm with the majority. The Jets will get destroyed. They have no running game and a rookie quarterback with few weapons. That kind of limited offense never does well against the Patriots. So the question becomes, do the Jets have a good defense? I think they'll tire from being on the field all game and the Patriots win by a couple of touchdowns.

God their offense is a massive disaster, but I think the D may be getting overlooked. If the Pats were a healthy team, I agree. Even as it is, they may still win by 20, but I think it's equally likely the game is close. -EK
