Not going to lie, I'm a bit disappointed. I mean, the episode was good, but I didn't really buy Skye's part and the ending gave me more questions than answers.

<spoiler comments>We all had to figure that the only way to bring Coulson back was via some surgery or operation, so this wasn't the 'reveal' I was hoping for at all. So Fury moved 'Heaven and Earth'..blah blah blah...
1- where did they get the tech to work on him?
2- 'Heaven and Earth' - does that mean the procedure and tech was alien? Asgardian? Something else?
3- what 'thing' did he become? I mean, he was in pain and wanted to die after 6-7 surgeries. Yea, I would too. Or is the 'thing' mean something leaning towards LMD?
4- what about when the doc said 'Coulson's heart was torn in pieces'. They didn't reveal how they put Humpty Dumpty together again. Was it the tech? Figure of speech?

On the flip side, I kinda wanted them to drag it out til closer to the next phase of movies so that it can tie-in to something going on in Guardians or Ultron. To reveal now, with movies still way out there, the continuity wouldn't be as clean, IMO.

Your spoiler questions pretty much matched my own...I was more than a little disappointed in how anticlimactic that ended up being.

The new Person of Interest episode was awesome though, so it made up for it a little. Grin

I thought the episode was pretty good.  Same issues as usual -- corny fighting.  But some of the CG work is getting pretty good and I liked the jet turning around (although that seems like an incredible waste of energy, but whatever.

I also think that the visual of the robot working on Coulsen's brain was really good.

But I'm with you -- this didn't seem like a reveal at all, since we all kinda knew that he had some kind of operation.  I'm more interested in what he is.  Is he a robot?  Is it organic tech?  Is he still Coulsen or is it just his memory implanted in someone or something else?

And Skye is fine.

I'm digging the show.  It's something entertaining that I can watch with the kiddo.  It has some issues that I think could be fixed if they didn't try to stretch everything out so much...say like if it had fewer episodes.

As a big bonus, there's also Skye running in a wet, red dress.  http://lightlybuzzed.com/2014/01/07/marvels-agents-shield-best-10-gifs/10/

Supernatural and Arrow come back next week, so TV is good for me right now.

Does anyone here watch Orphan Black?  Just finished that and liked it a lot.

My sister-in-law bought me season 1 on DVD thinking I'd like it, but I haven't watched yet.  Glad to hear you liked it.

*Maybe a spoiler for future characters?*

I might have to start watching SHIELD again.  Always liked Deathlok, and Lorelei brings the whole Asgard thing.  This show could really benefit from bringing in a lot of lesser known superheros.  Plus, Bill Paxton is the man!

This show just keeps getting more awesome every episode. This current storyline, with Skye getting shot and the whole T.A.H.I.T.I. situation getting explained have been amazing.

For those who followed the comics more closely than I did...was that a Kree in the life support tube in the underground bunker?

I got a huge laugh this episode when Coulson was asked about Tahiti, and instead of his normal canned "it's a magical place" response, spit out "It sucked!"

Great show...I hope it stays on the air for years.

Yeah, Stroke, I think that blue guy was Kree.  During the dialog between Agent Coulson and Lady Sif about all the blue races, the Kree was the race that seemed to be stressed apart from the others.  I can see how their semi-shape shifting abilities could be used by humans for potential healing properties.  Last week as soon as they revealed the source of the drug, I looked over at my daughter and just said, "Kree." lol

The show is damn good.  I just wish they'd stop mucking around with the air dates.  I think there's only been 4 episodes that have aired since December.  Next week will be some sort of Marvel spotlight show that I assume will focus on the new Captain American movie.  I think they're also going to reveal some bits and pieces about the Avengers sequel.

I read that the ratings are poor for the entirety of ABC's Tuesday night light up, but after the constant jacking around with the schedule, I don't see how they can expect anything to have decent numbers.  If they were airing episodes out of order, I'd say this is like Firefly all over again.  Hopefully, they'll get a clue and allow this show to continue.

I was wondering about something Lady Sif said last week...

****Possible spoiler if you haven't seen Thor 2****

...She said Odin ordered Lorelei be brought back alive and unharmed.  After watching the most recent Thor movie, at the end it is revealed Loki is posing as Odin quite successfully, apparently.  Assuming Loki has not been found out, he's still giving the orders in Asgard.  The fact that he wanted Lorelei brought back alive makes me think he has plans for her abilities...perhaps for the next Thor flick.  I figure if Loki has magic powerful enough to fool the Asgardians into thinking he's Odin, I bet he's got magic that can shield him from Lorelei's control.

Or not.  Lady Sif's line had me wondering about who's really calling the shots up in Asgard now.

Did you guys watch the special last week Marvel: Assembling a Universe? I love that sort of behind the scenes look, with all the interviews and preview stuff. Really enjoyed the peeks at Guardians, A2 and Winter Soldier. I also went out afterwards and watched all of the One-Shots that I hadn't seen, The Consultant, Agent Carter and Item #47.

I'm so ready for more Marvel... Winter Soldier and the new Avengers movie cannot get here soon enough.

Holy sweet mother of mercy, what an awesome episode tonight. Twist after twist after twist, and I'm still not 100% sure I know exactly who I can trust...
