You inserted your personal life into this thread, not us.

The statements "Hell, I'm not sure that I'll ever get married" and "If I do decide to get married, I expect it to be for life" are very strange coming from a person that now claims he has children from a previous marriage.
You have a spouse die suddenly, maybe then you will understand the meaning and wording of my post. Until then, what you and your tin foil hat think doesn't really matter.

It's almost like you just invented a family to pay insurance for, just so you could claim that you're being wronged by Obama... while forgetting that you had previously admitted that you weren't married.
You have the nerve to say that I invented my dead wife and our children? Don't EVER bother replying to anything I post ever again.

I think my wife and the mother of my children had died, I probably wouldn't be making posts implying I was never married.

See, in English, if I say, "Hell, I'm not sure that I'll ever [do x]", it means I have never [done x].  Watch:

Me: "Hell, I'm not sure I'll ever go to a football game... I don't like the 49ers or the Raiders."
You: "Um, you posted a picture of yourself at a 49er game with your dad."
Me: "My dad just died last year, you asshole!"

Irrelevant faux outrage aside, it doesn't make sense for you to question whether you'll "ever do something" when you've already done it.  Unless, perhaps, you had forgotten that you had already been married?

Gotta make sure to keep your fake stories straight.

I'm paying for myself and my 2 children through my employers insurance. And since you have to change the subject and make this thread about my personal life. My wife died in a car accident in 2008 you bunch of assholes.

No one changed the subject or brought your personal life into it. You offered up personal information to make your (bullshit) point. I questioned it. You then got owned and can't admit it.

Troll harder, bro.

shutdown is over, republicans got shut out .. they got nothing they wanted other than a huge drop in poll numbers

matt drudge already predicted they'd lose the house next year based on this shutdown.. i don't buy that .. but i wouldn't be opposed to it.

It's over with.  The government is back up and running as of today.

I don't think anyone is safe.  I read something yesterday that said that Pew polls are indicating people are fed up with politicians as a whole and that people wanting to vote out incumbents are at an all time high.

They said the usual is to vote incumbents, especially if you don't know who they are, but that polls show that almost half even want to get rid of "their" guy just for the sake of change.

Lots of time before the elections but it cold have some impact.

The winner of this all (politically) might be Hillary Clinton & Chris Christie.

It is going to be very very difficult to run for President as a sitting member of the House or Senate after this disaster.  A guy like Paul Ryan will be able to make some noise in the primaries and raise funds, but he now is too poisonous to ever get the support needed to win the general election.

You are correct, the next one is due in 3 months, right on schedule just like this one. This was a manufactured crisis by the white house, just like the last one. It keeps the sheeple from focusing on the real issues. What I don't understand is that all of the democrats that are currently fighting for these debt limit increases are on record as opposing and criticizing debt limit increases before King Barack was anointed. Recently I heard King Barack say, "we have to pay our debts". Is he so stupid that he doesn't know that raising the debt ceiling isn't paying our debts. Raising the debt ceiling is creating more debt and hurts this country more than it helps in the long run. We are currently bankrupt and still piling on debt. Like the song says, "when the walls come crumbling down".

This crisis was manufactured by the tea party rino's.

You don't understand how an opposition party works ? or was this rhetorical?

This is just dumb, Congress commits the government to expenses through the budgeting process. The budget deficits are approved and codified into law. The debt ceiling is a manufactured artificial number put in in 1917 because of world war 1  that says the united states can only borrow up to x amount.

Raising the debt ceiling isn't paying our debts .. but we can't pay our debts without raising the debt ceiling under the current budgetary law.

Raising the debt ceiling doesn't create more debt .. passing budgets with deficits raises our debt .. it's unconstitutional to not pay our debts.  Therefore the controlling instrument for the debt isn't the debt ceiling, it's the deficit budgets.

How are we bankrupt? .. what definition are you using ? and by what metrics did you determine that we're bankrupt ?

I'd love to hear you explain this away since it was Congress where this happened.

This crisis was manufactured by the tea party rino's.
My brother has worked in government procurement for 25 years. Due to his frustrations with our broken system, we have spoken at length about requisitions, bidding, awarding contracts etc. It is a time consuming process with bean-counters and pencil-necked bureaucrats every step of the way. The simplest request takes months not days or hours. In less than 8 hours of the shutdown, "miraculously", professionally printed 3X4 foot signs appeared all over the country in the tens of thousands saying- “this [park, facility, etc. with custom logos] closed due to government shutdown. There has not been a government shutdown in 17 years. These signs were designed, specifications were determined, signs were then requisitioned, bids were posted and vetted, government contracts were awarded. The materials were then ordered and the signs manufactured then distributed U.S. Mails or freight companies. This shutdown was orchestrated and planned well in advance at least 6-8 month ago. Millions of tax dollars were appropriated and spent in this process. Most likely, there is a paper trail a mile long leading directly to the White House, who are the overseer of all of these shut-down locations.

You don't understand how an opposition party works ? or was this rhetorical?
No, I guess I don't. Please explain.

This is just dumb, Congress commits the government to expenses through the budgeting process. The budget deficits are approved and codified into law. The debt ceiling is a manufactured artificial number put in in 1917 because of world war 1  that says the united states can only borrow up to x amount.
Fancy way of saying that we are borrowing from one pocket to pay the other pocket. In the end the debt is going up, not down. The debt is the principal plus interest, not just the interest. When that number goes up, it means that we aren't paying our debt. Just rolling it over and kicking that big ass can down the road until it gets too big to kick. Which, by the way, will be during our lifetime. ENJOY

Raising the debt ceiling isn't paying our debts .. but we can't pay our debts without raising the debt ceiling under the current budgetary law.
Common sense would tell an individual in the same position that if you have more money going out than coming in that the first thing you do is to cut your expenditures in order to pay your bills.

Raising the debt ceiling doesn't create more debt .. passing budgets with deficits raises our debt .. it's unconstitutional to not pay our debts.  Therefore the controlling instrument for the debt isn't the debt ceiling, it's the deficit budgets.
And those budget deficits will be added to the total debt ceiling, it's all the same in the end. You're just talking in circles.

How are we bankrupt? .. what definition are you using ? and by what metrics did you determine that we're bankrupt ?
Give it a while, you'll find out. Be prepared or prepare to suffer!

Quote from: King Barack
The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government can not pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that "the buck stops here." Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.

I'll take his word for it. We currently have a serious failure of leadership that starts all the way at the top! I bet you agreed with his statement back then, but now you mirror his stance. The blind leading the blind, truth is stranger than fiction.
