WHAAAAA???

I think its funny that, earlier in the season, Dave and I were complaining about lack of national media attention.  Now, I just want this to die.  I feel like its completely overblown and distracting and off-field issues need to be handled off the field.

What needs to happen to make this story go away?

I think at a minimum, they need to get Martin back into camp.  Is that even possible?  I would say even get him in front of a podium for a press conference and let them ask him the questions.

Continued silence results in continued digging by investigative media, which leads to 3-times-per-day headlines on PFT and ESPN about the next discovery.

Sadly, I don't think this is going to happen and I think this story is going to be a huge distraction for the rest of this season, possibly beyond.

When do we get back to football, please?

Two things:

1) Fix the problem
2) Time

Same thing that was required to make the Lisa Olson story go away. Nobody talks about Lisa Olson anymore.

Martin is done as a Dolphin.  No way he returns to this team.  To answer your question, Tom Brady or Rex Ryan need to get caught with a hooker(s), preferably under age.

I think Martin was officially removed from the roster today. Legally he won't be able to return this year. I'm sure if they can find him a new home next year they will.

I'll be shocked if Martin returns to the Dolphins. I don't believe for a second that his problems were simply a result of Incognito or that removing Incognito from the team will fix his problems.

Both Martin and Incognito are done in Miami and possibly in the NFL.  I can't fathom another coach taking a chance with either of them.

Come Monday around midnight when the TB game is over (win or lose) this story will die. Both players are done for the season, and it will be back to football. But another 6 days of this in the media unfortunately.

Always be careful what you wish for. You may just get it.

The only way this goes away is for  people to feel they know the whole story (so much is still up in the air) and for time to pass.

Indy would take Martin in a heartbeat. Heck, half of his old teammates and coaching staff are there.

And as I said yesterday, that's where he will end up after the season. Trade him away for a late round pick and just move on from this

Dolphins haven’t placed Jonathan Martin on NFI list, yet

Dolphins tackle Jonathan Martin remains away from the team, but he’s still getting paid.  Because he’s still on the active roster.

In my opinion I think this story got blown out of proportion way too much. Even tho Incognito has a bad reputation I dont think he meant anything that bad by it as the media is making it to be. Obviously when he said "ill kill you" in that email he obviously wasnt gonna Kill the guy. im sure stuff like this happens in almost every sport, every locker room. some bigger some smaller, maybe he shouldnt have said all that and maybe it went on for too long,
----> But im sure if this was really as serious as the media is making it out to be, it would DEF been stopped by other players or coaches soon as any1 heard about this. Maybe Incognito was just too tough on a guy, maybe he wasnt the only one but also maybe Martin handled it lil childish by just walking out on his teamates. If it bothered him so much why not say something to the coaches other players. Im sure he has friends on the team. Therefore just in MY OPINION I dont think it was a serious case of bullying as its turning out to be. We dont kno the whole story but everyone is automatically taking Martin's side bcuz of Richie Incognito's past. Personally I feel it wasnt as serious as now the media made it out to be

I think this may have to do with the NFL's (or Dolphins') inability to accept a gay player.  If this comes out, the Dolphins need to do some damage control and have a major embrace the gay community approach - like Eminem did with Elton John at the Grammys.  It will get spun off as a player and his team coming to terms with differences in sexuality.

BTW, I have no idea if Martin is gay.  I just think there is more to this than simple bullying.  And the sexuality piece logically fits.

If Martin couldn't let his teammates know what was going on, I don't think you'll see him at the podium addressing this. I also feel that his days as a Dolphin are done (thankfully). I also don't see anyone trading for him. Especially Indy. His coaching staff may be there, but so his their franchise player. And I certainly don't see them trusting Martin with that.

The only thing that removes this story from the frontlines, is time. Although I would love to see the story where Brady & Rex Ryan get caught sharing the underage hooker. Unlikely & sick, yet mildly entertaining. Because of who's involved. I do not in any way condone underage prostitution.
