In 2002 yes.  The line failed miserably in 2003 and Ricky's production dipped by 600 yards.  Then we all know how 2004 turned out.

So a RB running for 1300 yards is "failing miserably" for an o-line? You seriously have no clue what you are talking about. Just because Ricky didn't push 2,000 yards and NFL history like he did the year before doesn't mean the line failed. He still had over 1300 yards!  Roll Eyes

And Jay Fiedler/Brian Griese were getting sacked multiple times.

It's pretty funny they weren't "above average" before or after Ricky. I'll give you Ruddy but would stop after that.

Nothing to do with this but a few of us saw Ruddy a couple of years after he retired and the guy weighed about 200lbs ... down from his playing weight of around 300. He looked really, really good and wouldn't have recognized him if I didn't know it was him.

yeah and? QB's get sacked. Not like they led the league in sacks allowed not even close. Not even close. Again you don't know what you are talking about. The offensive line was a huge strength of the 2003 season. Had a 1300 yard rusher and they didn't give up a ton of sacks.

That's good for his long-term health. Most of the big offensive linemen who trim down after they retire live long lives. Good to hear he did that

The quote that sticks out in my mind is ... I think he said his wife told him "Tim ... there aren't any 300lb men in the old folks home."

Are you fucking kidding me?  Go back and look at the season.  Who was the starting left tackle??  Wade Smith.   The same Wade Smith that plays guard for the Texans now.  I recall Dwight Freeny having him for lunch in the Colts game

Every starting QB in the league is sacked "multiple times" every season...

They had a 1300+ yard rusher and didn't give up a crazy amount of sacks. The o-line was pretty damn good. What fantasy world you live in that having a 1300 yard rusher is a BAD THING I don't know. And lets not also forgot in 2002 (the season the o-line was great in your eyes ) Miami came in 3rd place in the AFC East and won 9 games. In 2003 (with the shitty o-line) the Fins came in 2nd place and won 10 games.  You are just bashing for the sake of bashing and have no logical facts to back anything up. Not surprising you do that alot around here

Offensive line was not the problem back then. It was a mediocre quarterback and coaching.
