Another article to add to the fire ... not like any news anyway.

John Denny says things haven't changed in the locker room from the days of Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor, Seth McKinney and Jeno James.  The only thing that has changed is the way a certain person has interpreted it.

Word is the Dolphins org as a whole aren't happy with how things have been portrayed. Hopefully we can move on before it becomes an issue for this year as well. Isn't it about time someone else does something stupid?

AP
Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill said that he’s glad that the Ted Wells report on the organization is out so that the team can try to put the harassment issue behind them and focus on football.

Long snapper John Denney, the Dolphins’ union rep, also addressed the release of the report at Jason Taylor’s charity golf outing and glad wasn’t a word you’d use to describe his feelings. Denney said he hasn’t read the report, but said that the “whole thing nauseates me.” He wasn’t talking about allegations against Richie Incognito, former offensive line coach Jim Turner or others in what he says were actions blown out of proportion.

“I have a hard time believing that you’re going to pay a guy good money to take his time to do an investigation, spend three months on it — all of us can agree he’s not going to walk out of there and address the table and say, ‘I’ve got nothing guys, sorry.’ You’ve got to come up with something. They’re paying good money to come up with something,” Denney said, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Denney said he never witnessed anything over the line or different from what he’s seen since entering the league, arguing that it all comes down to the player in Martin’s position. He said they’d cross the bridge of Martin returning if they come to it, but made it fairly clear that he holds Martin responsible for what happened.

“You answered your own question,” Denney said. “You know the answer to that. I’m not answering that question. It’s a little obvious.”

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is expected to meet with Martin as the team decides whether or not Denney will have to do any bridge crossing this offseason.

This argument analogous to the 1955 argument that Rosa Parks was out of line because "it has always been that way" and "she is the only one who has a problem with it"

Or the argument that it's impossible for a woman to have been beaten by her husband because I just saw her give him a kiss on the cheek a couple of days ago.

There were 2 possible outcomes from the investigation:

"yes there was abuse"

or

"we didn't find anything wrong"

How would the league look if Ted Wells spent 3 months investigating and ended up saying "We didn't find anything wrong"? They would be chastised because the media had already convicted Incognito and friends in the court of public opinion.

Therefore, there was only one possible outcome from the Ted Wells report.

Denny is either a liar or an idiot.  He's commenting on a report that he "hasn't read"??  A report about your own team, that consumed the headlines last season, and you haven't taken the time to read the report???  And this guy is the team Union Rep??  Does he know he is supposed to represent all the players, not just the one's he agrees with?

So basically, since you have already eliminated the possibility that the Wells report could have found Martin at fault, and the only possible outcome is that the locker room was toxic, we should probably just ignore the report?

Consider the following alternative outcome:

"We could find no evidence of discomfort from Martin prior to his demotion; in fact, his inappropriate text messages with Incognito were usually initiated by him, and consistent with his messages to other individuals outside of the Dolphins organization.  We were also unable to corroborate Martin's claims that this was a widespread problem in the locker room; the inappropriate communication was almost entirely between Martin and other players, primarily Incognito."

Jon Martin = Rosa Parks? I seriously laughed out loud! You guys would argue anything.

I'm pretty certain other blacks weren't saying they didn't see it as abuse as the Wells report "abused" has done.  If all other blacks going through the oppression would have said Parks is nuts then you have an argument. That's certainly not the case

Again... You really make me laugh at how silly you guys can get in order to just argue.

No one is saying that Martin is Rosa Parks, nor are they saying that he has been raped, or beaten by his spouse.

The point is that the kinds of arguments being made to discredit him ("he still went along with it," "other people don't complain about it") are equally applicable to those situations.
