Vontae Davis is signing a contract Tuesday with a new team he has said. He has announced he isn't re-signing with the Colts. That trade really worked out well for Indy

At least Miami got a 2nd round pick back out of a bad 1st round investment. The Colts gave up a 2nder rounder for a guy who only played 30 games for them.

And that 2nd rounder replaced who in the starting lineup?

Vontae was amazing last year for Indy. I would rather he stays with Indy than goes to the Jets.

That's not the point.  Whatever

He couldn't have been too amazing cause Indy with a ton of cap space didn't even try to keep him or franchise tag him

Landshark would be unhappy if the Dolphins signed Peyton Manning.  "Way to get an aging QB with a bad neck," he'd say.

Some people have nothing good to say about the Dolphins.

The Vontae Davis trade was 100% great deal for the Dolphins.  But because it was Jeff Ireland behind the deal, it must automatically be terrible, right?

Some people are just not objective.

Brian, Ireland made a good deal by getting a second for Vontae, but that shine on that deal was reduced significantly by the player Ireland used that pick on (Jamar Taylor).

If Taylor doesn't produce, then the net result is that Miami traded away Vontae's last year and got no value in return.  Since Ireland is the one who chose Taylor, any credit he gets for stealing Indy's draft pick has to be tempered with blame for wasting said pick.

If you're the Redskins' GM and you steal a bunch of picks from the Saints for the right to draft Ricky Williams, but then you waste all of those picks on bums, are you a genius or an idiot?

I can't speak to how amazing he was but I continually heard him referred to as Indy's best corner. Also you spoke a bit too soon as he resigned with Indy today.
