The Terrible Towel is a rally towel associated with the Pittsburgh Steelers, an American football team in the National Football League (NFL). Created in 1975 by then Steelers radio broadcaster Myron Cope, The Terrible Towel has spread in popularity; fans take their Towel to famous sites while on vacation. The Towel has been taken to the peak of Mount Everest, and even into space on the International Space Station. It is widely recognized as a symbol of the Steelers and the city of Pittsburgh

Home Run Feature: Center field has a home run feature akin to Citi Field's Home Run Apple but different in design and feel. The piece, designed by Red Grooms, is located behind the left center field wall, and visible during a game. It is between 65 feet (20 m) to 75 feet (23 m) tall, with bright pink, blue, aqua, and orange colors along with many moving parts. The art feature rises from a pool of Grooms-designed water and is dotted with clouds, flamingos, seagulls and palm trees. Marlins jump and laser lights shine for roughly 30 seconds.

I have a terrible towel at home, and I don't care about the Steelers.

That monstrosity in center field at Marlins Park is a cultural thing?

Even if the alternative wasn't a classic like the terrible towel, I'd vote for it over that eyesore.

I have grown to like the audacity of the Marlin's structure, but it just can't win against something as iconic as the towel.  I wish the structure was hidden below ground and only came out when called.

If the Marlins sculpture was going up against "Gum stuck to my shoe," my vote would go to the Bubblicious...

^^ LOL

One of the greatest comments about that ridiculous thing in center field at Marlins Park:

The original was two guys making out in the nude.
The owner said "Needs to be gayer".
