ESPN is reporting that the Seahawks and Richard Sherman have agreed to a four year extension worth approximately $57 million.  For the best corner in the league, that's right on par.

Revis has a 2 year $30 million deal.  Appx the same.  Granted in reality it is a 1 year $10 million deal, cause there is no way BB is paying $20 million for year 2.

Seattle now has made their FS, Earl Thomas, the highest paid safety in the league and Richard Sherman the highest paid corner in the league. I'm hoping that at some point, they hit the cap and stop keeping those great players. Wink

They are going to have to pay Wilson at some point. Having a starting QB on a 3rd round contract is a bonus for them cap wise but it won't last forever.

His play last season was anything but HOF.  I've seen great corners never fully recover from serious knee injuries like his.  Belichik is defnitely rolling the dice on this.

They are going to have to pay Wilson at some point. Having a starting QB on a 3rd round contract is a bonus for them cap wise but it won't last forever.

If they lock him into a deal similar to Eli Manning's right away, then that's good cap management.  If they wait and he has a monster year in 2014, then they will have to give him a deal similar to Tom Brady's.  That will cripple their cap.
