Not sure if anyone else saw the Sun Sentinel online article today listing their Top 10 Miami Dolphin QBs of all time.  I'm about half convinced that it was a practical joke.  But if they were being serious, they really should have made it a Top 5 and stopped there.

Here's a link to the article:

I wish there was a little text with each one.  I'd love to see how the justify putting Don Strock at #5.  The guy had 22 starts over a 14 year career and never broke 12 TD's or 1000 yds passing in any season.

Strock and Pennington are ranked too high. What the hell did Strock ever do on the field in Miami? He was here 13 years with the Dolphins he started 20 games and did nothing on the field of any significance. And Pennington played just 1 year in Miami and he was lined up at WR half of the games when they ran the Wildcat.

The problem with moving them down is you got to move someone else up and no one deserves it.

I have a hard time understanding why Pennington should be ranked above Fiedler.

I feel like my list would look like this:

1. Marino
2. Griese
3. Morral
4. Woodley
5. Fiedler
6. Tannehill
7. Henne
8. Mitchell
9. Pennington
10. Harrington

I am in favor of this list, because to me, Pennington should be above Fielder.

Fiedler played for a better team, but he, himself, was not a better player.

I agree with this. Also when you have 2 HOF qbs who take up over 25 years of the franchise. ..a top 10 list is silly. Should be top 5 list

I think if you look hard at the teams in question, you may reevaluate that statement.  Fiedler's teams had more defensive talent, but (in his playoff years) he had nothing on his side of the ball remotely comparable to Ronnie/Ricky.  When he did have Ricky in '02, he got injured and Ray Lucas blew up the season.

I think it's also fair to consider that Pennington played less than 20 games and didn't win a single one after the first season.

Pennington was fine, but let's not make it out like he saved the 2008 season. In the first couple of games, he was dreadful. It is easy to defend against Pennington because he can't throw it more than 20 yards.

The Wildcat saved that season.

Top 10 makes little sense. Top 5 is as far as it is worth going.  That would be true for ne as well, and most teams.
