>>"Aponte's fraying relationship with Philbin is at the core of the team's prevailing issues"

This is true, Aponte can't block worth a shit...

>>"Several league sources said that Ross is covertly working to be positioned to potentially trade for 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh"

Can I get an official count on how many wishy-washy unverifiable terms are used in this one sentence? I count four...

In equally realistic news, several unnamed TDMMC sources said that Dave Gray is covertly working to be positioned to potentially become a Russian cosmonaut.

Udachi, tovarisch Dave...dostich' dlya tekh zvezd!

Parcells was traded from the Patriots to the Jets.
Belichick was traded from the Jets to the Patriots.
Gruden was traded from the Raiders to the Bucs.

After Gruden, the NFL enacted a rule saying that you may no longer trade picks for a coach.

Is that your poetic way of telling me that I'm full of hot air? Wink

Thank you for the history.  I did not know about them being traded. I always thought they left to coach those teams

I was under the impression that if the coach was still under contract with his former team, the new team would have to give the old team a draft pick or two as "compensation"

I read this story this morning and it seems like blatant pot-stirring to me.  As Sunstroke eloquently pointed out, this story has all the making of "I'm writing this story and making it up as I go along"

This kind of story is the kind of thing PFT is notorious for.

But this rift stuff is also the kind of thing Dawn Aponte is notorious for.

Which is why it writes itself and people lap it up as gospel.

Team sources told me whilst in London that the Dolphins didn't enjoy having to fly to an away game on a different continent.

See, I could write for PFT.

No, In all honesty I didn't, there used to be a rule on here about not just posting links to other sites, either quoting the text or giving some analysis about the story.

Looks like I could write for CBS sports too...just pick a topic which people perceive to be true, quote some unnamed sources. Done.

Without unnamed sources, we would have exponentially less news. Part of being a journalist is to let your sources know they can trust you.
