I didn't buy the collapse of the Patriots for one second.  I feel like everyone got played.

Even with all their warts they are the best team in the division until someone proves otherwise

The original post was about the teams play through 4 weeks and their season going forward. It was an overview of the team thus far.  EK was ignoring the first 4 games and only talking about last night's outcome as like the first 4 weeks didn't happen. There is a difference and it's obvious what he was doing. We all saw through it....except for you.

I'm not going into what EK was thinking because I don't know. The fact is, it is out of line to jump on him. His post is on topic, timely, and accurate. I know your history with him and I know he can jump in with comments that are meant to do nothing but insight arguments, but so do a lot of people here.

This isn't directed at you since you didn't post it (but feel the need to have me discuss this further) but saying things like"no one needs help reading the scores page" when the entire first post is nothing but a review of the scores page is just there to start an argument.

We can agree to disagree.  I am with Spider and Pappy on this one.

I am with me on this one. The Patriots still suck,  they just had a good match up at the right time.

When else was I going to comment on how they played? BEFORE they played?
That's why I said it was smart. If I could just get you to employ that kind of wisdom on whether or not Tannehill WILL be a bust or a franchise QB then we would be on the same page.

So let's get this straight, comments about a team's past performance (such as our original post) are insightful in some way, but a retort after the next game is played is not insightful?

I know we like to pile it on EK but there is nothing insightful in any of this thread (not to take anything away from Pappy or this thread) because the original position is based on past performance. Had Pappy come on here and based some sort of future predictions/analysis maybe I could give it some leeway as insightful but it is solely based on past performances while bashing EK for using pas performance as well.

First sentence of Pappy13's post:

For the first time I really believe the Patriots ARE doomed. LOL

The phrase "the Patriots are doomed" is an evaluation of present and future, is it not?
Is the "kiss of death" (i.e. the title of this thread) something that happens to a corpse, or a living person that is about to die?

First things first. Just to make it perfectly clear, I was having a little fun at the expense of both the Patriots and Skip Bayless when I posted this article from Skip. I didn't really think the Patriots were doomed. I was poking some fun at Skip Bayless and the ridiculous positions he sometimes takes. This was not really a ridiculous position as I'm sure that Skip Bayless really does believe that the Patriots will be just fine and truth be told I kinda thought they would get it back together as well but Skip doesn't have the best of track records when it comes to his predictions which is why I referred to his earlier Tannehill versus Weeden comparison, so I was making fun of him a bit. The fact it was about the Patriots was just a bonus. So don't worry about insulting me, I wasn't trying to be insightful, I was merely posting something that I found humorous.

As for EK, yes, I (and many others here) take some shots at him from time to time, but he very much enjoys coming here to take some shots at the Dolphins from time to time as well, so I think it's pretty even in that regard. I don't think anyone really needs to defend him. If it bothered him all that much he wouldn't come around and he's still here so I think he gives as good as he gets and that's what forums like these are all about, an exchange of opinions. Sometimes it's not too healthy, but the moderators do a pretty good job of reigning things in when it gets out of hand.

The reports of their death are premature.

People really need to stop with the demise of the Pats. So long as Brady and Bellicheck are there, they will own the AFC East.

I agree.  Their window of opportunity is for another title is closing fast but add long as Brady is playing at a high level it is still there

The Patriots adjust well...always have.   They seem to finish the season faster than they start it in a lot of cases.  So, it's just hard to count them out early, since there's a good chance they'll address those problems.
