I have decided that nep ineligible receiver play edges that out slightly as even more ingenious

I think the Helmet Catch was a much better play than the fake spike... particularly if you consider all involved.

I can see why a Patriots fan might not hold that play in equally high esteem.

exactly.  Wildcat, & edlemamans pass would be part of the class of plays I am talking about, the helmet catch and hail marys are not

The Edelman pass play is a play that is run by thousands of drunken frat boys in every intramural flag football league across the country.  Let's stop short of calling it "ingenious" unless you're considering the pledge captain of Phi Eta Kappa* to be an offensive mastermind.

*Before you jump on my ass, I don't know if Phi Eta Kappa is a real fraternity, I just made up 3 Greek letters for the purpose of making my point.

Nope. If you can run the same play 3 times on the same drive and it works all 3 times, it doesn't compare with the fake spike.

if i remember right the dolphins abused the pats with the wildcard more than 3 times in the same game i think it was 6

I've been sick the last few days, so I've just been sleeping or on drugs.  I saw this explained on PTI or something, but I didn't understand what happened.  Can someone break it down to me like I'm 5?

^^^ Easy to understand right here. The NEP lined up with 4 regular lineman. The rules say there have to be 5 ineligible receivers on the line of scrimmage. They sent out a player with a receiver number in an ineligible receiver position (he does not have to be in the group of lineman, just on the line and ineligible). They confused the Ravens because with a quick enough start they can still be fumbling around to determine which guys are lined up as eligible receivers.

The NEP did this three times using the ineligible player in multiple spots in their formation.

My understanding was that Shane Vereen declared himself ineligible, and then lined up in the slot as a receiver, and drew coverage, and ran a little roll out to the flat to take defenders out of the play covering an ineligible receiver.

Someone supplement my description if there's more to it than that.
