TDMMC March Madness is back!  This year we're doing a bracket to determine our 2nd favorite Dolphin player (Marino is excluded, so that things are interesting.)

We chose 68 of the best players.  Let's narrow them down!

Welker was a tough choice for us to include, since he left and had his best years later.  But he was home grown and we loved him for a while....just couldn't pay him.  I'm curious to see how he does.

I'm voting both for and against players in this group:

- T-Buck was a solid roleplayer from the JJ teams
- I was an outspoken advocate for keeping Polite near the end of his time here
- Prince Wally was really the only serious sack threat JT had opposite him during his Dolphins tenure
- I also strongly objected to the Marshall trade, and thought he would have been a valuable weapon for Tannehill

As for who I'm voting against, I didn't think Welker (a Patriot), Izzo (another Patriot), or Porter (a Steeler) should even be in this contest.  If we're including them, why not Thurman Thomas or Cris Carter?

I don't even know who Jimmy Cefalo is.

in my mind there are only 3 REAL Dolphins on this list. I voted for them.

Porter, Polite, Marshall, Welker, and Izzo are not true Fins in my opinion. Just spent some time here

I find it interesting that two people have spoken up against Welker. To this day I still hear people complain about the Dolphins losing him. Granted he really made his mark with another team but when people complain about losing a guy 8 years later I think that is a telling sign of popularity.

Spider, Cefalo played in the Griese/Woodley/Marino era (so likely before you really cared). He caught the record breaking Marino pass for most TDs in a season. He is now the radio guy for Dolphin broadcasts.

Cefalo is an old-time player, but most fans will probably know him for his work with the team since.  He does radio/TV stuff locally, like Mandich or Bokamper.

People also complain about the Dolphins not getting Matt Ryan.

It's easy to complain about losing a player that you could have had/kept, when that player later turns out to be good.

I will vote against players that didn't leave a lasting legacy with the Dolphins.  Brandon Marshall and Joey Porter come to mind.

Jimmy Cefalo is actually a local sportscaster on channel 10 here in Miami and is the radio voice of the Miami Dolphins.  He played WR for Marino's first (maybe second?) season.  Fun Fact, he caught Marino's single-season record-breaking TD pass.

This violates my jersey rules.  I will not wear jerseys of players no longer on the team.  Especially ones who play for division rivals.  I have a box on the top shelf of my closet full of old defunct Dolphins' jerseys that I am no longer permitted to wear.  My favorite: #20 John Avery

So you never wear the jersey of a retired player?

Where's the love for the heroes of the glory years?  Larry Csonka, Paul Warfield, Bob Griese?   You damn young whippersnappers have no appreciation for history.  Now get off my yard!   Grin
