I've been listening to how many people aren't wanting to touch the U. I know Florida has a bad reputation of their "Bull" gators bullying coaches, even Spurrier, which keeps Florida from being the "dream" job for many but they've still done well getting coaches.  Now the rumors going around about how former Canes run the program in Miami and good coaches will shy away from that after the beating Golden took.

This got me to wondering about how UCF would fare to Miami in the coaching search. Originally I hadn't even thought UCF had a chance to land a big coach but the more I've thought about it the more it makes sense. I'm just not so certain the lure of the "U" is enough these days.

UCF has a new stadium and facilities with a fan base consisting of 60,000 students, plays in a weaker conference and is 30 minutes from "The Happiest Place On Earth" and Universal. Miami has old facilities and plays 40 minutes away in an empty, generic Dolphin stadium. They only have a student body of 17,000 which contributes to the lack of fans in a big stadium. They both have access to the youth of Florida.

There are lots of coaching vacancies this year so I think it's going to be interesting to see who ends up where.

I don't see either one attracting a big name coach. Also, I wouldn't consider Brighthouse Stadium that big of a draw. I don't think it is very impressive. UCF went on the cheap on that deal I think.

Silly question, one school is in a P5 conference the other school isn't.

At this point, you gotta say Miami.  They have such a recruiting pool to draw from and a larger fanbase.  And they hate their guy they just got rid of, so it's a clean slate and you probably can have a pretty long leash.

If UCF was in a power 5 conference they'd be a more attractive job, but not in a smaller conference. They need to join a bigger conference.
