That's part of baseball. The brush back pitch where you crowd the plate and get hit.
To my knowledge, players are not awarded a base if hit by a pitch the umpire considers to be a strike.

The "don't disrespect me" hit. The "you always get the best of me so I'm going to give you something to think about" hit.
This is complete nonsense.

So I guess if Suh thought an opponent was "disrespecting" him or "getting the best of him," stomping on him with his cleats was AOK?  That's far less dangerous than a 90 MPH fastball to the ribs.

The idea that you would even defend that practice of petty retaliation is ridiculous.

You can't take away those type of things without taking away a part of the game.
Football and basketball took away those (bad, unnecessary) parts of the game decades ago.

LOL ... says you. The players of the last 150 years have been doing this just fine and I have yet to hear a big outcry.

Oh, I don't disagree that it's part of baseball.  I disagree that it's a part worth preserving.

After all, baseball did just fine for 150 years without replay, did fine for 100 years without stadium lights, television, etc.  Some things are worth keeping, and others are worth updating.
