I have no commentary for this...just thought a few of the Miami residents on the board would like to know.

Good.  I'm sure it was predetermined for getting them to fix up the stadium.

Super Bowl host teams have a combined record of 286-393-4, so while we may make the Super Bowl by 2020, making it that particular year doesn't seem probable. (The likelihood of that record being just chance is apparently around the 5% mark).

I'm curious since I don't live in an NFL city, are the residents happy about it? Is this one of those things where The Dolphins,Ross, and area leaders love it,the residents are n't nearly as giddy?

It seems that, anecdotally, people are pretty happy.  Most of us won't notice a difference...it's one weekend, but you get increased hotel and restaurant revenue that helps the local economy.   We get a concert or two thrown in that's kinda neat, but it's not like traffic is crazy or you can't do stuff because it's crowded.  It's not an influx of a huge number of people...just a huge amount of money.

There is plenty to do around the stadium and around town if you want to get involved. Heck ... Papa Pump won tickets in a dance contest at the last one held in Miami. He sold them to an agent who gave them to one of his players.
