My wife and I order pizza and have a friend over for a movie.  The friend is a vegetarian.  They usually get cheap pizza from Dominos and even order 3 pizzas.  (One fancy veggie for the friend, one meaty one he likes, one meaty one she likes.)

But tonight, she wants to try a new place that's higher quality (and thus more expensive.)

She suggests to the group: "Is it OK if we just get cheese?"
Him: "Hell no.  What's the point of getting the better thing if you're just getting the lamest thing?"

Super easy and shouldn't even be a discussion for anyone who considers themselves a pizza enthusiast. Even ordering plain cheese pizza for the low end is unacceptable for anyone over the age of 5.

Can you not get a pizza with mixed toppings in FLA??? (ex. half sausage, the other half green peppers).  I occasionally like just plain pizza, so I'd be okay with no toppings, but don't make it a rule.

Yes.  You can.  I understand that there are solutions to fix the problem.  It's really more about going to a nicer place just to get a weaker pizza.

I wonder if people are misunderstanding your question since the voting goes against all logic if you ask me. You are at a nicer place, paying more money, and she just wants to order cheese only. You are at the nicer place for the purpose of enjoying the ingredients. You might as well have some of them or else just get the cheaper one.

Sorry your logic doesn't resonate with the rest of us.  I go to a nicer place for a better pizza.  That would include everything from the water to make the dough, the dough itself, the sauce and the cheese.  You can definitely taste the difference between Little Caesar's vs a nice pizza restaurant, even if it's cheese.  I don't mind meat toppings, but I'm cool with cheese as well.

I guess we just have different ideas of what a pizza should be. As Dave said, getting just cheese is a weaker pizza experience. I am paying more for less enjoyment. That defies all logic regardless of what toppings you like. I would never eat pizza with only cheese anyway.

As long as the pizza doesn't have anchovies or some funky buffalo chicken sauce on it, I am good to go.

I do enjoy a good cheese pizza...especially a white pizza with a yummy garlic cream sauce.  I'd say that one out of around every 5-6 pizzas I get are cheese.

Is Dominos cheap in Florida?

+1 on Both Phish's points

Save the cash and buy frozen, take and bake from the supermarket...I've given up on buying big fast food pizza chains that deliver (Domino's,Pizza hut,Pizza inn,Papa Johns, etc),I got tired of paying an arm and a leg for crappy ass soggy, greasy ass flavored pizza.

I either do Papa Murphy's take and bake,or make my own.

Just my wonky feeling, unless it's a 1 topping pizza,I'm baffled by all meat topping pizzas. The idea  is extremely unappealing to me,might as well drink the fryer grease. Tongue

Fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, good tomato sauce... great dough, hand-tossed, wood-fired oven. Just the right amount of crispiness.

There's way more to pizza than "extra" toppings.

I've never had a good pizza in a cardboard box.

We have a nice Italian restaurant that we recently discovered and it has awesome pizza among other things. (Filomenas on 17-92 if you want to try it Phish. They also have great $5 lunch specials) This means we have been eating a lot of pizza lately. I like everything on it but my wife doesn't like green peppers and onions so her half is without. If we forget to ask, or they forget to not put green peppers and onions on her half she will take them off and not complain too much.  If we are eating with someone else, like my kids, and they do not like everything we purchase another pizza for them.

While I will eat just cheese or a pepperoni pizza it is really boring to me. With that said if I was paying more money for better pizza I would think I would have an even bigger issue with just cheese.

They are not extra, they are the toppings. I don't consider just slathering mayo in between two slices of bread a sandwich either but I know some who eats it. In my mind, it is wrong to call that a sandwich also.
