Maybe you are evaluating some facet of
performance of a watch that I am unaware of. I'm looking at their ability to accurately tell me the time, in which case it seems unlikely that a Rolex will do so better than a Casio that
automatically and regularly synchronizes to an atomic time standard. In contrast, Beats headphones can measurably have a better sound response range than a pair of $20 Wal-mart headphones, so at least you're getting
something for your money.
Now, you can make the argument that it's possible to get the same performance as Beats at a lower price, and that's fine and true. But it makes no sense to get on a soapbox complaining about Beats and then turn around and say that
it's different when Rolex does it. Rolex is everything you profess to hate about Beats, only magnified many times: people buying overpriced "premium" products because they want to be seen with a brand.
Which is a timely and relevant observation in a thread about iPhones.
