What a terrible shame.  I do the typical guy thing about my "old ball and chain" and all that stuff.  But truth be told, I would be completely lost in life if that happened to my wife.  Not a fan of Berman the tv guy, but I feel very sad for Chris Berman the human being.  And of course their children.

Retirement was a rumor when his duties changed. He just signed a new multi-year contract in January.

Outside of losing a child I can think of nothing worse. I've. Even with my wife 30 years and would be completely devastated. I can't imagine what he's going through but my heart goes out to him.

Yes but it was for far far less money and he only had to make a couple appearances a year. He was retired they just paid him to not sign with anyone else
