Rank the major Spy Franchises.  There are more, but these all have 5+ entries and are still having movies made now.

1) James Bond  (Seriously, is this really a question?)
2) Jack Ryan  (Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear & Present Danger...awesome)
3) Jason Bourne (Even Jeremy Renner couldn't fuck this up...though he tried)
4) Mission Impossible (A little too formulaic for me...every movie is like "Covert Ocean's Eleven")

1 - Jack Ryan
2 - James Bond
3 - Mission: Impossible
4 - Jason Bourne

Hunt for red october is the single best movie out of any of these franchises, and clear & present danger is probably #2 based on that alone, jack ryan wins.
Bond is bond, and that is enough for #2, even though realistically alot of the bond movies are campy and not great in the grand scheme of things.
mission impossible is consistent and entertaining and consistently entertaining
jason bourne .. well .. it started off ok .. then got sequeled into absurdity

My list is exactly the same, although I disagree about Renner...I liked that one.

I know I am going to get blasted for this but I have never been a James Bond fan.

Jack Ryan
Jason Bourne
James Bond
Mission Impossible (couldn't even beat out Bond and I've only sat entirely through about two Bond films)

I'm with Phish-I'm not a James bond fan either,I really like Sean Connery, but the films are meh....for me...I actually like If looks could kill, the campy, shitty parody?

I totally agree with Fau,about Hunt for Red October.

For me it's
Jason Bourne
Jack Ryan- only for Hunt for red October - the rest meh...
James bond because I've seen a few of them
Mission impossible - I can't even recollect if I've seen a whole one, just bits and pieces.

I am hearing folks decrying the Bond movies for being too campy, etc..., but I'm not seeing any of those same people factoring in the newer Bond movies with Daniel Craig.

And, when those campy Bond movies came out, camp was still cool. You young turks just don't appreciate the good old days. Wink

007
Ryan
MI tv
Bourne
MI movies

I split MI because the movies seriously drag down the franchise from some epic TV shows.

1) Mission: Impossible -- The 2nd movie is outdated, but the others are all great and they continue to get better and better.  These last two have been great and they're really fun.  I love this series.
2) James Bond -- I love the new Bond, but as a franchise, a lot of it is hokey.  Still, great tropes.
3) Jack Ryan - My favorite is Patriot Games.  I haven't seen the most recent one.  I liked the "balls" of Sum of All Fears.  I wish that each Jack Ryan would make more than just a movie or two.
4) Jason Bourne - I have never loved these.  I don't think I've seen more than the first two.  The fight choreography makes me sick.

I can't believe you guys....the MI movies, especially the most recent three, have been phenomenal.

I'm just going to quote Stroke on this because his list and reasoning are the same as mine.
