D-E-F-E-N-S-E!!!!!!

Good job today to limit the Titans run game and keep Cassel from a the big plays downfield (except for the TD called back on the Off PI)

Thought they were lights out, flying to the ball

I'm starting to think the dude makes outrageous comments on purpose just to get attention.

Defense!  Too many guys stepped up to be able to limit it to just one guy.  Jones was a BEAST especially in the first half.  But again, everybody on defense stepped up. I am really looking forward to seeing how this defense holds up against high powered offenses such as the Falcons and of course to see how they stand up to Brady.

Individually, Kiko Alonso.  He forced a fumble that turned into points, but also he just had some really big hits that got the crowd into and pumped the team.  The defense fed off of energy led by guys like Alonso.

Also Mat Haack, punter, was fantastic.  He pinned the Titans back a bunch of times.  The Titans punter was also very good, but in a game that was largely about field position and mistakes, rather than traditional offense, this mattered.

Dave reminded me that I overlooked Kiko.  He was all over the place yesterday.  I've always though he looks too "scrawny" to be a LB, but he does get the job done.

I always thought he looked a little small as well, but he's 6'3" 240lbs.  He looks very small next to Timmons and Malauga though

Cutler by default.

1.  This position is absurd.  In an offense that scores no points and a defense that shuts teams out, to name a QB that was literally booed off the field by his home crowd, to name him as MVP is nuts.  But I'm sure you know that.
2.  Even if this absurd position is really how you feel, why create a thread devoted to it?  If the QB is automatically the best/worst player on the field only because of win/loss, then what is the point of pointing it out?  What are you looking to discuss?

Well some thoughts:

1) I said earlier that my new direction was that the quarterback was responsible for the outcome of games.  This is the prevailing view of the mainstream media.

2) Could it be possible that Jay Cutler was playing heroically against an amazing Titans defense?

3) The game ball thread is so that everybody can post their own opinion.  Everybody has their own opinion.  This thread is so people can discuss who they feel deserves the game ball.  My opinion is not always going to be shared by everybody on this board.

4) Cutler did lead a clutch touchdown drive in the fourth quarter yesterday.

^ Did you watch the game? Honest question.

Jones and the linebackers played well. I'll make my vote for Timmons. He made it look easy, but that's what happens if you play well.

I saw bits and pieces of the game.

Usually, when I watch or follow the whole game, they lose.

Do you believe that you have some sort of cosmic effect on the outcome of Dolphins games?

I understand you position.  But your position is stupid to the point of being indefensible.  And on top of it, it's not the prevailing view of the mainstream media.  Turn on the radio -- they are blasting the shit out of Cutler for being ineffective and giving all of the credit to the defense for being able to do anything.

2) Could it be possible that Jay Cutler was playing heroically against an amazing Titans defense?

No.  At best...at very best, you can not BLAME Cutler.  But he certainly didn't play well.

It doesn't seem like it's your opinion.  You aren't analyzing anything.  You are simply checking the box.  If I know your thoughts on the game before the game is even played, what value is that?

4) Cutler did lead a clutch touchdown drive in the fourth quarter yesterday.

Absolutely.  And if you want to give him credit for that and name him as the Game Ball, that's totally fine.  But you're only basing your choice on a binary outcome.

You should start a thread in the Off Topic Forum for your reviews of movies that you have only watched the commercials for.
