A friend asked me this and I found it was harder to come up with the answer than I thought.  Here is the game.  You just won so much money you can make a mini music festival and you get the best seats in the house.

The lineup you get to choose from is below.  You even get input into their set list, if you want:

1:  An "opening" / acoustic set, :20 minutes of length
2:  Band one, playing a :45 minute set
3:  Bank two, playing a :45 minute set
4:  "Semi main act," playing 1:00 hour to max of 1:15
5:  "Semi main act," playing 1:00 hour to a max of 1:15.
6:  The headliner, playing a max of 2:00 - 2:30 hours

Mine is kind of all over the place:

1:  Tesla
2:  Queensryche
3:  U2
4:  Def Leppard
5:  Pearl Jam
6:  Foo Fighters

You?

At the moment off the top of my head

Zach Brown band
Kenny Chesney
Kiss
Bon jovi
Def Leppard
Paul Mccartney

I'm struggling with replacing Kiss with Aerosmith, and Rolling stones with McCartney.

The format of music I listen to doesn't fit you outline as the opener having 20 minutes can sometimes be just one song. I'll play along though as to who I would like.

1. Rebelution
2. Slightly Stoopid
3. Soulive
4. moe.
5. The String Cheese Incident
6. Widespread Panic

Opening: Dave Matthews Band (3 acoustics songs: Gravedigger, Satellite and Typical Situation)
Band 1: Matisyahu (basic hits, as long as it includes King Without a Crown)
Band 2: REM (singing nothing later than Reckoning album)
Band 3: Van Halen (original cast, not Van Hagar)
Band 4: Led Zeppelin
Headliner: Pink Floyd (with Roger back in the fold)

1) Eric Clapton- start with a little acoustic Layla
2) The Who
3) Bruce Sprinsteen - nothing from after 1990
4) The Police
5) Van Halen (half & half with Dave & Sammy)
6) gotta be The Rolling Stones!

I like this thread, but haven't answered yet, because the idea of a 7 hour concert sounds miserable to me.

My issue, was the bands/people I want to see in my "Dream concert" ...Too many are dead. The other problem was like brought up (Stroke, and Masterfins) with Van Halen, can I get 1984 Van Halen? or am I stuck with the current Iteration? (I'd love the Original Def Leppard with Steve Clark?,Or the Original Black Sabbath? The Beatles?)

Already seen my dream concert. Around 3 hours of Eric Clapton at his peak in 1990, he was sober and sharp with a fantastic backing band.

I'm with you B. I would have had the Grateful Dead in my list but there is no way I want that blasphemy that they recently trotted out.

It's a Dream Concert, so if you dream of Black Sabbath with Ozzie or Ronnie James Dio up front, then that's how the show is going down.

^^^ you've never actually listened to Heaven and Hell? No disrespect to Ozzie, who is legendary, but Heaven and Hell, imo, is Sabbath's best studio album...and that's all RJD. Wink

Sure! The deader the better! I'm going to have Mozart tickling keys at the concert after-party... ;-)
