THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

« on: November 19, 2017, 04:20:49 pm »

Adam Gase

Sabotaged this season with his love for Jay Cutler.  Matt Moore should have been starting from week 1.

Wouldn't have mattered either way.

Bushrod, HM to the refs for some extremely questionable calls turning a Bucs FG into a touchdown, a Dolphins touchdown into a FG, and, of course, the safety, which probably decided the game.

Matt Burke - Despite 4 turnovers, and all the B.S. of the game tied at 20 our overpriced defense couldn't prevent them from driving down the field in the 4th quarter.

Sabotaged this season with his love for Jay Cutler.

I'm gonna defend Cuttler somewhat. Last week his stats (both conventional and advanced) were average, but his performance was truly HORRIBLE. This week, he actually played pretty well. It's really hard to fault the quarterback when he drops the ball right into the hands of a receiver 40 yards downfield and everything gets called back due to a holding penalty away from the play. Or when he throws a perfect touchdown strike to a receiver who is then tripped by a defender who then proceeds to intercept the ball. Or when he throws a great first down ball that the receiver then bobbles over to a defender for the interception.

He had one really bad decision, the second interception, where he threw the ball across his body left while moving right and didn't get anywhere near the necessary zip on the ball. Bad mistake. And he had a throw where threw the ball away where he probably could have done something if he'd kept his cool, but other than those two throws, he had a really great game (half).

As I mentioned last week in one of the threads, Matt Burke is in over his head.  You can blame injuries, you can blame players for not performing; but this defense has repeatedly been terrible in the last two minutes of both halves.  Burke needs to shoulder a good portion of the blame for this defense.
