The #Dolphins just completed a conference call with #Rams pass-rusher Robert Quinn, informing him he’s being traded.
Ian Rapoport,Adam Shefter, and others are reporting, what we traded is unknown exactly

Ian Rapoport reporting

Compensation update: Dolphins are sending a mid-round pick to the Rams in exchange for DE Robert Quinn, per source.

In the trade involving Robert Quinn, the #Dolphins and #Rams are swapping draft picks.

The trade of Robert Quinn between the #Dolphins and #Rams involves a mid-round pick going to LA and late-round picks being swapped, I’m told. It’ll be official in mid March.

The #Rams offered the #Chiefs Robert Quinn during their trade talks centered around CB Marcus Peters, and now turn and deal him to the #Dolphins instead. He’s due $22M over 2 years.

Will be interested to see if Rams got much for Quinn. Only 28, but was not the same after back surgery and is due $11.4 million.

My thoughts
SMH ...I hate this move, our D-line is already expensive (and old enough at the DE position),and have a bunch of other holes. Tannebaum is fucking moron.
To my point this tweet (about our Defense salary cap)
#Dolphins Defense cost on the salary cap is impressive this year

Suh- $26.1M
Jones- $11.6M
Quinn- $11.4M
Branch- $10M
Alonso- $8.6M
Wake- $8.6M
Timmons- $8.2M
McDonald- $2.5M

I disagree.  You'll see him take someone's spot on the roster, and if not between him and Harris we have wakes replacement

If I understand correctly he underperformed last year and got hurt the previous year? Sounds like a great deal to Tannenbaum!! Nice we can add some more money to that underperforming d line.

If we didn't have a salary cap, what would our payroll look like? Not that we would ever win 11 games, but it would have to be over $200 Million easy with the amount we spend on anyone.

Armando posted this today ... "What the Dolphins have effectively done is trade Jay Ajayi and the 11th pick in the fourth round of the upcoming draft for Robert Quinn and the 30th pick in the fourth round of the same draft."

I guess it doesn't seem as bad when you put it that way.

Its about N. SUH, What do u guys think Miami should do with Suh. He's due $26million next season. Even though he is a very good player, and probably worth every dollar, I don't think Miami should keep him for 26mil. esp. That they have couple good DT, and can always bring one in either through Draft or Free Agency to create depth.
By trading/releasing him it would free up some cap space for other guys.
Anyone know how much money Miami would owe him if they would just simply release him today? Or if Miami were to try to trade him, does his salary automatically go to the new team and old team is off the hook?
Basically I'm asking what do u think Miami should do with N. SUH...that is due to make $26mil. this season??

IMO Our Dt's have some relevance to our Wr situation...Stills,Parker,and Landry.

The issue that seems to get lost in the discussion is Jordan Phillips, the defensive tackle we drafted in the 2nd round the same year Suh signed.Philips rookie contract is up after this season (So is D.Parker, but there is a 5th year option? being 1st rounder,we claim we don't want to spend on Landry,b/c we paid stills, and want to have money for Parker). Suh is currently the 3rd highest in the league in salary against the cap (as of this post,as soon as the free agent QB's sign he'll drop farther down the list.)

At some point you have to Shit or get off the pot with Suh,and Jordan,we got nice production out of Davon Godchaux.

Cutting Suh post June 1st,IMO is the best thing we can do,as it only gets worse from here,if we ask to "Adjust his contract" to give us Cap relief this year,it makes it more messy next year when he's 32 years old.

You can see what we'd save, and how it will hurt (It doesn't include if with restructure is contract numbers)
https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/miami-dolphins/

On the Robert Quinn, it's the 2nd year in a row, we've swung a trade with the Rams for an old Defensive lineman.William Hayes last year...

Sorry it got convoluted,talking DL,Wr's,and the salary's...

Miami can't afford to keep any player at that cap hit, he's got to go.
