Browns GM: So I understand that Ja'Wuan James might be available?

Tannenbaum: Yes that's correct.

Browns GM: So what are you looking for?

Tannenbaum: Well we are totally prepared to pay James his 9 million salary for 2018 so we will only be entertaining realistic trade proposals.

Browns GM: I got a pair of season tickets for the Cavs in 2018.

Tannenbaum: Are they courtside?

Browns GM: Nah, they are up in the nosebleeds behind a pole.

Tannenbaum: Done.

I was thinking pretty much the same thing about the story that Suh is going to get released.  The Fins probably tried to trade Suh (who is arguably the best DL in the NFL), but being the slick negotiators the Fins are, the best offer they got was a half eaten churro.

James is fine. Not great, just solid. Probably not worth his salary but hopefully they get something for him instead of releasing him.

I welcome tanking as long as it is 100% Philadelphia 76ers tanking.

Rumors are we want to keep him,and trying to work out a contract with him.... Undecided

I heard teams were offering a choice of a upper deck beer,or popcorn vendor for J.James...Tannenbaum was asking for an assistant sewer specialist, and 3 slightly used plungers for him... Cheesy

If we didn't overpay Landry then this guy should certainly get a "regular" contract. He's been so up and down it's like flipping a coin on whether he will have a decent game or not.

Knowing that we need a backup QB, the Atlanta Falcons are offering the rights to Steve DeBerg.

J.James is still on the team with his 9.3 million

The Miami Dolphins are keeping the option worth $9.3M on Ja'Wuan James. He remains with the team. Dolphins have their starting RT.

Do you think this is the year that we realize the Guard position is important or will we just throw a 4th rounder at it again?

I'm actually going to give a rare thumbs up to the Fins management for keeping James for his option year.  With McGlinchey being the only highly touted OT coming out of the draft this year (and even his ratings are going down in most mock drafts now) and only 2 or 3 plug and play OTs in free agency this year (which will drive their prices through the roof because of supply and demand) the Fins were wise to hold onto James for another year.  Kind of weird how OT is such a critical position, but there always seems to be a shortage of them.  With the passing game being 75% of the game these days, you can't have enough quality CBs or offensive linemen.

Omar Kelly said it best. If he would have been released he would have gotten more money and we would have had to pay more to replace him.
