Joe Rose and Kim Bokamper were talking about this on the radio this morning. Zach Krantz, Joe's cohost, was telling a story about Channing Crowder and how he had never bet anything on a sports game. He said he and Hochman plays regularly whenever they get a chance. He stated they were out of town and Crowder saw them betting on a Thursday night game, as they were in a bar that offered gambling. Crowder got involved he made almost every house bet he could and long story short ... now he's hooked.

That's how I see this going. More people will have access and it will get larger.  Bokamper even said the NFL is excited about this and looking to see how they are going to profit from it.

States can go two different ways:

1. Allow casinos and racetracks to offer it.

2. Make it a part of the state lottery system.

The second one would have a much greater impact although likely a much smaller book. If you can bet on tonight's baseball game as ubiquitously as you can buy a scratch ticket I could see a huge surge.

^^^^ I'd think you'd want it in sports bars if you can get it.  Of course Jai alai and racetracks would be the first to get it but it would make sense to involve places already making money from sports and drinking.

Like Fantasy Football it'll probably cause the ratings to spike.
