TO is going to skip his HoF ceremony. I should have guessed he would be the first person to skip what would seem to me to be a great honor. I really don't care that he is doing it because it is his choice but I just hope he isn't doing this as a stunt or that it affects the experience of the others being honored.

This falls into the White House thread about this new culture where people skip out on things for their own personal benefit.  As a society, we've become quite selfish.

Does anybody care that he's in the HOF?

TO is flat broke.  I am guessing he figures he can make more money by having his own private event and change admission probably in either Cal or Tex than he would make being a part of a program hosted by the NFL.

Seems to me that TO is salty because he was skipped over for a couple of years, and he feels this is his only mechanism to strike back at the committee that unfairly denied him his rightful place for so long.

From an entertainment standpoint, I love this.  But I think TO will ultimately regret it.

TO is an immature child, STILL.  This is why teams didn't want him, in spite of his tremendous talents.

It would be funny if Eagles fans still booed his bust and threw things at it.

A lot of young knucklehead pro athletes eventually mature (usually after they have retired) but TO had/has the nice combination platter of being both immature AND a loony tune.

And now the NFL will not individually recognize TO at the ceremony.  They will make his bust but they won't mention his name.

Nor should they.  If he wants to be a dick, they should reciprocate.

I don't even know if they should induct him. If he doesn't care enough to be inducted why should they care to induct him. Seems silly to me.

I think HOF induction should be based on a player's career, not whether they care to be inducted.  The Hall of Fame is not a jilted girlfriend who needs your praise.

If they want to get rid of the ceremony,  then fine.  But if they voted him in, he should be in.
