Kind of surprised at Eli Apple being traded.  He hasn't played that well this year, but all they got for their former #10 overall pick from 2016 was a 4th round next year & 7th rounder in 2020.  Considering N.O. will be low in the draft order that's like a 5th and an UFA.  Looks like the Giants are going to clean house, and the only safe player will be Barkley.

I'm pretty sure OBJ will be safe.  Trading him would cause a riot.

Apple has not lived up to the hype of his draft position and has had a lackadaisical attitude according to the previous coaching regime.   Getting rid of him was the smart move as Manning is getting up there in age and is clearly declining.   They could very well be using those picks as leverage to move up and draft his replacement, although they probably won't have to move up that much.

The previous coaching regime was a bunch of knuckleheads, though.  So I don't know how much I would trust their assessment.

They obviously were right about Apple.  He played like shit for them and he's playing like shit for the new regime

I know plenty of Giants fans and they are tired of OBJ's antics.  If the Giants got a 1st round pick for him the fans I know wouldn't be disappointed.

With the Saints being my second favorite team, I hope that Apple might turn it around a little bit playing in the secondary with former Buckeye teammate Lattimore.  Although I'm not particularly optimistic.  Apple has 1st round bust written all over him.
