Amendment 3 blows.  It is supposed to grant voters with a right to vote on new casinos across the state.  But it would require 60% to pass.  The big supporters are Disney and Seminole Gaming -- they're trying to take it impossible to compete with them.

I think it's going to pass, but it basically creates a more entrenched monopoly for Seminole gaming.

Also, it's inappropriate for the vote to be state-wide -- why should Jacksonville residents be voting on potential gambling expansion 12 hours South, in Miami?

So, vote no if you haven't already.  ...the Dolphins are on the correct side of this issue.

Done. Many people I know have been spreading the word  for the last few weeks that it is Disney and Seminole Tribe nonsense

I voted no on this for the reasons you stated Dave.  People in the Panhandle go to Biloxi to gamble, and it would be great for the economy up there for gambling especially since the hurricane.  But with this law, people in Miami get to dictate what happens in Pensacola.  That is a little less than the distance from Atlanta to Detroit, to put things in perspective.

Kind of funny but I don't really want casinos in Orlando but wouldn't mind it in Daytona. Jax, Northwest or South Florida. Maybe it's the Disney perception or something?

Question 2 could be the most lopsided result ever.

Yeah, I don't get the feeling that my vote will be the deciding one on #2. I can't wait to see what the finally vote count is on that one.

People have been sneaking things they really want into Question #2's since the dawn of mankind...I thought everyone knew this.
