I know we've done this before but it's been a while. I'm currently looking for something to replace my Gillette Fusion 5. While they work very well ... I've always hated how expensive and overpriced they are so I have decided to move on. What are your recommendations for a great replacement razor?

I use Dollar Shave.  It's inexpensive and pretty fool-proof.

Harry's. I switched over from Gillette to them years ago. Better shave, better quality blades, longer life span and much cheaper blades.

I'll second this choice. Saw a deal on slickdeals last year for the Dorco Pace 6 with 10 cartridges for $10. At this point I'm only on my 4th cartridge. Best razor deal I've ever had.

I've heard Harrys blades rip your hair out as opposed to cutting it.

I don't know about that. Harry's is the smoothest, most comfortable shave I've had. It's just about nick free shaving too. I recommend it to everyone.

I may end up trying Dorcos, Dollar Shave, and Harry's. For what we've been paying for razors these are pretty inexpensive.

I don’t always have beard.  It comes and goes throughout the year.  And my wife uses it regardless.

I second the Harry's recommendation. I have really sensitive skin and this has been by far the best shave for me.

I have been using Harry's lately myself. It seems to work fine but I bet I am not as picky as some of the rest of you.

I mostly use an electric razor, unless I have a couple days growth from not shaving on the weekend, then I use a regular razor because the electric doesn't work well on multiple days growth.  I bought a box of about 50 razors from Sam's Club years ago, and still have about half the box left.

However, I did start using the rub your razor on your arm a couple times to keep it sharp, and it does seem to work...at least I think it does.
