We can post all new dolphin signings here:

Dolphins sign Dwayne Allen.

Quote
Tight end Dwayne Allen is staying in the AFC East as he signed with the Miami Dolphins on Saturday, the team announced.

Allen tells ESPN's Josina Anderson that the deal is for two years and the total value of the contract is $7 million, according to Allen's agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

I liked Dwayne Allen coming out of college, he's been solid.

Is there some award I'm unaware of for teams that have the most Tight Ends on the roster or the Fins just so bad that they figure if they create a team made entirely of Patriots castoffs, they will still be better than they were before?

They all got hurt last year ... except for  Mike Gesicki who didn't play a lot.

I'm not sure what you mean, Dwayne Allen is taking MarQueis Gray's spot.  He's a solid veteran TE who can do everything.  That leaves us with Allen, Gesicki, Smythe and Nick O'Leary.

And yes, I will take all the Patriot castoffs we can get.  They have a culture there that they all bought into.  We need that in Miami.  Even if those guys are just depth, they are here and influencing younger players on how to be a pro.

More on reasons for Allen:

Quote
The Dolphins’ signing of tight end Dwayne Allen says: (a) new offensive coordinator Chad O’Shea liked Allen in New England; (b) they’re not happy with blocking tight ends like fourth-round pick Durham Smythe or Nick O’Leary; c) they’re not going to ask Mike Gesicki to be an in-line blocker anymore.

I may be biased but I am a huge fan of multiple TE sets.  You can create all kinds of mismatches with 2 or 3 TE in formation.

Yeah, I guess you guys are right.  If nothing else, I suppose he will be a good mentor for Gesicki and Smythe.  And I get it about bringing in guys who can instill a culture of winning from their previous team.  But you have to be careful about other teams' castoffs and the whole "great guy in the locker room" thing is fine, but we have seen a couple times in the past where the Fins made a commitment to "great guys in the locker room" who unfortunately weren't particularly good football players.  Don't get me wrong, I don't want a team full of guys who are getting suspended every year, but by the same token, I'd rather have trips the playoffs than a dozen finalists for the Walter Payton Man Of The Year Award.

I agree, but Miami has not had a clue how to do this in the past decade.  Of course their whole play calling schemes on offense seemed out of touch the last two head coaches.

"Clive Walford’s deal with Dolphins is one-year, $720K with no guarantees. He’ll have to compete for roster spot."

Excellent, Cowboys only have $18 Million in usable cap space right now. Let's buy ourselves some better draft picks in this trade like we just did with the Titans.
