Three teams in the mix. Can't wait to see what Chris Grier is able to pull off on this one.

I think I need to clarify "badly". Being in Dallas and hearing all the talk it's pretty much the fan base that "badly" wants Dolphins DE Robert Quinn. The Cowboys themselves...not so much.

I think a combination of our willingness to eat money as well as being okay with taking 2020 draft picks makes us a very desirable trade partner. DeMarcus Lawrence says he may hold out so Quinn will be nice insurance or even a bargaining chip in contract talks too.

I think our ceiling is a 2020 3rd rounder for this but that would be great.

Indeed.  If the Cowboys wanted him that badly, they would have made the deal before the Saints had a chance to try to outbid them.

"From Up to the Minute Live on our breaking news: #Dolphins pass-rusher Robert Quinn is expected to be dealt to the #Cowboys for, likely, a future late-round pick, sources say. How it happened"

I'm going to guess and say a 2020 4th and a 7th, and we'll swap 6th rounders.  We'll also eat some of his contract.

If we get a 3rd I'd be really happy.

We only got a 2020 6th round for him, but we aren't paying any of his salary.

So basically you bought a 2020 6th round pick for $1.1 million.

No, the Dolphins will draft a player to replace him, pay the draftee $1M (at most) and avoid paying Quinn's base salary of $12M, thereby saving $11M, and they were given a free 6th round pick to go along with it.  Pretty good deal for Ross.

No 6th round wasn’t free.  If you cut him rather than paid the roster bonus you would have saved $$$$ but not gotten the pick.

We were going to cut him anyway so getting any draft pick is good, but I think if we would've ate a few million on his contract we could've gotten a 4th rounder. Quinn isn't elite but he's still good enough to have on your team.

The 6th rounder is conditional and could turn into a 5th.

That’s even better. Here’s hoping that Quinn has a good season for the ‘Boys then.
