I grew up and spent a lot of my adult years in South Florida but for the last 13 years, we have lived in Allen, TX.   So my shameless hometown brag is that there are 3 Allen High School graduates who could go in the 1st round of the draft tonight.  Kyler Murray, Greg Little, and Bobby Evans (although I would be surprised if Evans goes in the 1st round).  All together, most of the draft "experts" think that 5 Allen High grads will be drafted this year.

I don’t think anyone from my high school (Longmeadow) ever played in the NFL but one kid who graduated before me went on to be a head coach in the NFL (not a particularly successful one) 😀

Steve Courson went to my high school.  IMO Best NFL connection to my high school, is one of our alum gave the greatest  qb of all time a son.

I played against Fabian Washington in high school, went on to have the 5th fastest 40 time ever at the combine and played for the ravens as a CB.  He played RB in highschool, their team sucked, but he was so fast.  They would just run sweeps all day, no one could catch him.  Peter Warrick WR was from my first highschool, so was Mike Jenkins CB, who also graduated from the same college as me (USF).

We've had quite a few from my High School. In fact ... my high school QB played 13 years in the NFL. I bolded some of the bigger ones but here's the list of athletes from Wikipedia minus the actors, politicians etc.

As well ... my wife's grandfather used to play with Babe Ruth. I have a copy of a team pic with both of them on it. That's pretty cool to me.

Players native to Florida accounted for five of the NFL’s 32 picks in the first round on Thursday. Most people thought Jawaan Taylor would have been selected too but he didn't quite make it.

Funny story.

When I was playing on the sophomore team in 2003 in high school, the junior who was slated to be captain next year used to be friendly with me.

I was cut from the team next year, but I assumed that he and the rest of the people on the team still liked me.  It turned out I was wrong.  After I posted an away message expressing my hope that I would make the team next year, the captain messaged me telling me I shouldn't "center my life around a team I am not on."  I was taken aback.  

The team went on to drop the next 3 games, the final two by a score of 7-6 on missed extra points.  I returned for my senior year the following fall, made the team, and we enjoyed a 6-5 season and won a share of the conference championship.

The captain denied it was he who sent me that message.  He was drafted into the NFL, but never played a game.

Nobody on me team ever made it into the NFL.
