I don't entirely disagree with the Baylor kid's ideas although as with most things, it isn't as easy as it appears on paper.  But I'm all for more accountability for people on the dole.  Maybe since he is a Baylor kid he could start smaller by doing something about Baylor's horrific and apparently well established procedure of allowing their athletes to rape whoever and whenever they want and having the school cover it up for them.   Then he could work his way up to tackling moochers sucking off the gubment teat.

I swear I'll never understand this. For the life of me I can't understand why I should be paying $300 a month instead of $90 for my lawn or $30 for a hamburger, fries and coke just so teenagers and lazy adults can get benefits at McDonalds.
I don't know about you, but the most tedious and/or physically demanding jobs I've had in my life are those that paid the least, with little-to-no employee benefits.  I'm not sure why some think that because you have a low-paying job, you must be "lazy."  If you ask me, the people who need healthcare benefits the most are people who do backbreaking repetitive labor: people like landscapers, farm workers, or day laborers.  These jobs do not pay well, and yet they are important to our society.  I, for one, have no problem with someone working a job like that (if they want to!) and still earning a decent living.

Florida is a purple state for now and I'm not familiar with all of them but I do know that a few of those may be in Red states but they are Democrat controlled.
Florida has a Republican governor, a state legislature fully controlled by Republicans, and two Republican U.S. Senators.  That isn't "purple."

And if the problem is the local government, why aren't the blue cities in blue states populating this list?  Shouldn't they be doubly burdened with terrible government at both the local and state levels?  It seems to me that the more likely answer is that the problem is red state government, which causes both the Democratic and Republican cities within it to suffer.

They all have Democratic mayors because they have the most low income people who think they will get more free crap or they are so liberal they think illegal aliens should have more rights than American citizens and that women should be able to kill their kids up to like 5th grade or something.
But that's not really answering the question.  Why aren't these cities all burned out husks, like many of the old rust belt cities?  Why is Wall Street in NYC instead of Memphis?  Why are Silicon Valley and Hollywood in CA instead of AL?  Why are Portland, Seattle, and Denver growing rapidly instead of collapsing under the oppressive liberal nanny-state?

If we are to judge cities by their productivity, I'll be happy to put NYC, LA, SF, and SEA against any conservative cities you like.  In fact... what city is the conservative success story?  I mean, Houston and Dallas are both run by Democrats.  Can you even name the crown jewel of conservative local government?

There is no way in hell I will pay less or have the same access to a doctor that I have right now if I have to wait for people who are paying nothing to go in front of me.
In theory, there would be more doctors, because the market for healthcare services would be much bigger.

But honestly, this question is easy to answer.  Ask any citizens of any country where universal healthcare is implemented whether they would prefer to keep their current system, or return to a system like the one we have had here.  For whatever issues other countries may have with their healthcare system, they all correctly recognize that the American system is FAR worse.

This is very similar to how Reagan warned of the perils of Medicare, and how it would destroy liberty in America by turning it into a socialist dictatorship.  And guess what the most popular government program in the country is today?  Any politician that attempted to end Medicare in the US would be thrown out so quickly it would leave a vapor trail.
