There was an interesting question on AskReddit the other day, which was:

"What's something that you didn't know you needed until you tried it out?"

Immediately, my answer is a tongue scraper.  That thing changed my life.  And until you use a real one, you just can't understand the difference it makes.

My friend swears by this thing called a squatty potty, which is like a stool that changes your pooping stance to make for easier/smoother/fuller dumps.  He couldn't stop singing its praises and I've heard the same from other people about it.  ...but I've not yet bought/used one.

And there were lots of responses in this particular thread about a weighted blanket, which is supposed to help you sleep more soundly, reduce anxiety, etc.   ...but it sounds horrible.  I am tempted to give it a shot.

Do any of you have suggestions for these or other things like them?

Electric sheet.  Kinda like an electric blanket but you sleep on top of it.  Might not be as life changing for some one who lives in Miami as much as for us Northerners.

I wanted one of these as well, but I'm a little concerned at it being able to navigate around my kid's crap.  Also, we have a sunken living room.  I assume it's smart enough not to just roll off the side?

The real issue for me is the financial barrier to entry.  I want to try one out before I commit.

^My parents have one they swear by...seems to do a good job, they have two dogs always tracking in dirt.  It has sensors so it doesn't fall down stairs, it's pretty intuitive.

Co-sign on the weighed blanket.  It's like being pushed to sleep every night.

I used to love turning down the heat and piling blankets on my bed during the winter, but the weighted blanket means I can have the same experience year-round.
